If your country goes to war with another country and they conscript you, would you go?

If both countries have believers in the exact same faith as you, would you kill them for national pride?

Would you kill fellow believers if they were from the enemy nation?

Would you face death to refrain from war?

Serious answers please...

In every other major religion, so long as you have a sincere heart and do good deads while following the 'wrong' God, you can make it to heaven. They also say if you follow the 'right' God, if you're wicked, you'll go to either hell or be purified.

Christians say you need Jesus for His blood sacrifice as prophesised in the OT.

However, if you grew up in say, Tibet or the Amazon, and never knew of Jesus, you can go to heaven anyway because of your 'ignorance'. *This shows we do NOT* need Jesus' blood sacrifice to be saved. God instead will use your actions and good heart to bring you to heaven. It's NOT essential because non-Christians past, present and future go to heaven.

This is how it's always been in Judaism- the ones who started the whole blood sacrifice idea. They realised it's impossible for the whole world to follow one religion, and they had no interest in banishing anyone to eternal hell for mere thought crimes.

They moved on, but why do Christians refuse?

To positive atheists such as Dawkins and Dennett, an ideal society would no doubt be one solely based on science and reason, but in advocating this are they imposing their own belief system on others, and in doing so preventing freedom of expression?

If I want to believe that the world was created by pink elephants, who is anyone else to dictate to me that I cannot and should not have these ideas, however crazy they are. Surely all that atheist activists can argue for is a separation of religion and state, and non indoctrination of children.

Or is religion inherently detrimental to society as a whole, if so, how do you define what is a religion and what is not? Do you ban me for believing in the pink elephants or only ban me when I have a congregation that believes it with me?

For some reason I've always felt depressed during the Christmas season, it's been like this ever since I was a child. I start go get depressed, and I just look forward to the holiday passing. I'm typically not a depressed person, I'm the kind of guy that's normally happy and carefree. And now that my dad is getting remarried, it seems like I actually have a reason to be depressed now, and it just makes things that much worse. Does anyone else feel this sadness during the Christmas season?

everyone thinks they have the "right" religion and that everyone should convert to their religion. i am a christian, but sometimes i think "what if the other people are right and they really do have the "right" religion?" I am a strong christian beliver (i go to church 3-4 times a week, and i am getting re-babtised on december 30) but if i were to leave my house right now and by chance get hit by a car and die, would those thoughts prevent me from getting into heaven because i have doubt or am i fine because it was just a thought that ran through my mind once?

I seldom ask questions, so when I do I want you to understand that I do want to know and that I am not bashing.

Many on here have said that the Bible is incomplete and the the Book of Mormon, Doctrines and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price complete the Gospel. So my question is does the LDS church believe that I can be saved with just the Bible or do I NEED the other books to be saved?

If you believe that I need the complete gospel to be saved, what part am I missing that is necessary for salvation?

I thank you ahead of time for all sincere answers.
