I f mormons believe they will be Gods, then it contredicts the bible right? I mean take a look at Genesis 3:1-6. What the serent was telling Eve exactly states what mormons tell others. Satan himself fell from heaven because he wanted to be like God. There can be no other God than just God himself. If you look at scripture carefully, things just dont come together. I think its false teachings. Another thing that questions me about mormonism is they say they have a prophet that goes up to talk to God. No man can see the face of God. Moses for example was really close with God and the only thing that God allowed for him to see was the back of him. Why would God need a prophet when we as christians have the holy spirit to guide us? Any comments?

Advent is upon us !! Praised be our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ !!

Christ gave us the great Sacrament of Reconciliation. Are we availing ourselves of this before Christmas comes?

John 20:19–23 "On the evening of that day.. ..Jesus said to [the apostles] again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you... ..If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained."

This is the authority to forgive sins in the name of Christ, given to the apostles. This authority was handed down through Apostolic Succession. Notice how in verse 21 Jesus says, "As the Father has sent me, so I send you." In other words, Jesus is giving his apostles the same authority that he received from his Father. Now what authority did Jesus receive from God the Father? We see earlier, in Mark 2:10, that he had the authority to forgive sins. Jesus brought the power of forgiveness, and in John 20:21, he gives that authority to his apostles

Hear me out. They are taking money for a product they do not own, cannot deliver and cannot guarantee in any money-back kind of way, and don't accept responsibility for the truth of their claims. Is that not fraud, and how can we begin a class action suit against them?

......answers? All I can get out their answers is, that their Church changes with the times and the prophets whenever I ask about all of the changes to their book and doctrine over the years since the revelation of the plates to Joseph Smith. It just seems like an excuse to me. Can a Church really add or take away from their doctrine and supposedly accurate holy book and still be taken seriously by intellectual folks that still have the power of reason and are capable of thinking for themselves? I mean 2+2 is always gonna equal 4 isn't it? So what does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints add up too? I have gotten less double talk and mumbo jumbo out of a used car salesman!

I met two people in my preaching work today who say they are atheists. One is from a country that is "atheist", so he just has that background.

The second one was religious long ago, but then after seeing the hypocrisy in many churches, he decided to give up on any belief in God.

Question to the atheists here, I'm just curious about whether any of you are like the second guy, whether

a) it's the hypocrisy in today's religions that made you believe what you believe, or

b) the hypocrisy just added on to what you believed already?

As this question is addressed to atheists, I'd really appreciate if all others kept their remarks polite.

Thanks.

... let's keep it short
... let's keep it bereft of quoting from our own religious books
... let's not deride science
... let's talk sense while we answer.

If your answer to the above is YES.

Then we must be related as brothers and sisters. Why commit incest?

Or would you say that God was born to erase the past sins and incest is allowed these days??

A SINGLE SATISFACTORY ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION ... and I will accept that I am wrong in my assessment. Let's not quote from books - but instead quote logic that is understandable for everyone.

If they don't have free will, then how could Satan turn against God unless God made him to? Then how could this be evil?
If they have free will and Satan was the first sinner, why did he deliver Satan to Earth to temp Eve when all God made was good and innocent?
Why would God cast evil onto the Earth if God loved the Earth so much?
He had to of known what was to happen.
And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Eve did not sin before she was tempted by Satan.

Be careful, i'm well versed in the book you profess to believe in, but i'm no part of you. you are like pedaphiles who prey on the ignorance of the innocent.come on I'm on answers so i must be into pain also, give me your doctrines of men or question what you have been taught.
