Satan was the first to sin. Basically, he felt that everyone should be free to do whatever they wanted to do their way, instead of doing things Gods' way. God let him have a chance to show what his plan could do. God let Satan tempt Eve, in order to let mankind, and other beings in the universe, see what evil results from not following God. Earth is a demonstration of Satans' way, as opposed to Gods' way. God did not LEAD us INTO temptation. He allowed Satan to set up temptations, and allowed humans to choose to give in to, or shun, the temptations....knowing that most would usually give in. Is God supposed to hover over each of us 24/7 to prevent us from sinning? Is He supposed to implant mind control chips which make it impossible for us to sin? God does not want robots, or pets. He wants companions who freely choose to not sin. People learn best the hard way. Before people were created, Lucifer was alone on Earth, and it was his playground. He liked it. Then, it was changed, and people were added, and humans were put in charge. Lucifer/Satan was angry, and wanted to spoil things for humans, and God. In doing so, Satan played into Gods' hands, and did as God had known he would...which demonstrates to all beings everywhere, that Satans' ways are not best. War, famine, plague, crime, etc, result from not following God. This is like a parent watching a child try to touch a hot burner on a stove. If the parent always prevents it, the child will wait until the parent is not around, and will turn the stove on and touch it with something flammable, and start a fire, and burn the entire house down...killing people in it. By letting the child touch the burner, which is on, while the parent is there-ready to grab the kid after it has mildly burned its fingertip-the parent can: put the finger under the tap, turn on cold water, dry the finger, and apply painkilling salve to the blister. It is a brief, mild, pain which teaches the child-better than words ever could-to not touch the stove while the burners are on. After that, the child learns, and never touches the stove again like that, and so the house is not set afire, and no one dies. It is the lesser of evils. It is the result of Satan, and humans, being stupid, and selfish, and rebellious. One day, God will put an end to sin, and Satan, and all will be well...and everyone will remember why Gods' ways are better.

Q: Eve did not sin before she was tempted by Satan.
Answer: Eve didn't sin anyway. She transgressed the law, but because she was not accountable spiritually to her actions, not knowing good from evil, she did not sin against the law.
Q: If angels have free will would that not constitute Satan as being the first to sin?
Answer: Consider the state of the heavens at that time. The children of God were spirits. Do you understand the government of the spirits? If so, why don't you tell me about it? As it is, you seem to be applying the government of mortality to the government of spirits, and I don't think that is correct.
Lucifer presented a plan for the spirits of men, and that plan was not accepted by the Father, even though 2/3rds of heaven liked it, because it defeated the purposes of bringing to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. Hence, a rebellion occurred.
What information do you have that would lead you to believe that Lucifer was the one who first rebelled? My understanding is that he was a choice spirit among the children of God. Perhaps someone else drove him to rebel? If so, then wouldn't that someone else be guilty of rebelling first?
Whatever the case, you cannot associate Heavenly Father's accountability to the agency of his children, except by his stewardship to provide the right environment for his children, so they could have an equal opportunity to make righteous choices as much as unrighteous choices for themselves.
Lucifer was cast out of the presence of God, not heaven. All existence is a degree of Heaven, just not the presence of God. This Earth is a degree of Heaven also, yet Lucifer and/or those who joined with him, dwell here as well as other places in the heavens. They just will never progress as the living have, and receive physical bodies, though they try to possess our's if we let them.
Q: Why would God cast evil onto the Earth if God loved the Earth so much? He had to of known what was to happen.
Answer: Because Lucifer and the opposition he and his followers bring to mankind is an integral part of the Plan of Salvation, in proving Heavenly Father's children in all things.

Lucifer was an archangel. I'm not sure, but maybe this gave him the ability to make decisions. After he turned on God, he was kicked out of Heaven. God did not cast sin onto the Earth. Mankind would have never experienced the pain of sin if Adam had not disobeyed God. Man was created to be able to make decisions. It was totally up to Adam and Eve whether or not they sinned. Just because Satan was on the earth didn't mean that Adam was going to sin. God told Adam in advance not to eat the fruit.

That is so deep. You must know Satan like the back of your hand. How often do you two get together to roast marshmellows?
I feel tempted to sin right now because of your question.
Should I blame you for my temptation, or am I to blame because I selected, through free will, to answer your question?
I should forgive you. What happens if I do not forgive you? Will I also be damned for your sin and mine?
I know your are onto something enlightening, but it scares me so...but can I use my free will to prevent fear from consuming me? Is my curiosity in this subject also an abomination?
If you could ask Satan these questions in person, would you? Or would you prefer to just ask God, or maybe an angel?
Perhaps you'll get your wish...one day.

Biblically speaking, there's nothing in the Bible that says Eve was tempted by Satan. (The snake is only identified with Satan in the Koran). Also, just because he tempts does not mean he sins. The Jews view Satan as a servant of God, testing people's faith as his duty.

Yes Satan was the first being to sin.
God's ways are not our ways. We all have free choice. We would probably not have allowed free choice if we were god, but God did. God didn't create robots. Eve had a choice, so did Adam, they both sinned.

OK now.
1) According to the Old Testament Angels do not have free will.
2) Mankind has free will, but if one does not have choices then free will is useless.
Thus 3) it was part of the plan to have a "big bad" to challenge the ultimate plan.
Eve's sin was not temptation. It was lying. And Adam is as guilty as she. Yes they were not to partake from the tree and she did, BUT when Adam saw what she was doing HE CHOSE to join her actions by eating the fruit that she discarded. (remember she only ate one bite. He ate the rest to hide the evidence.) But they felt guilty about it and could have asked for forgiveness but when Yahweh, who saw all of it, went on his walk to see his little part of creation they hid from him and lied about why they did so. And that is why they were punished.

Angels had free will until Satan fell. That happened before the creation of the world. The rest of your questions are just you not being able to comprehend the things of God. You should focus on God and His gift of salvation.

Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, >>>>and create evil: <<< I Yahweh do all these [things].
The concept of 'free will' is nothing more than 'self-will' rebellion.
Yahweh is in charge and totally soverign.
It is ALL part of HIS plan. Do you know what that is?

Angels do not have free will. Judaism views "Satan" as an angel working for G-d. He tempts man and has a pretty crappy job but he has no free will to change it. G-d knows what will happen but man has to have free will to decide for himself.
Eve was the first to sin, not the "the devil".
