All historical texts of the a number of religions have been written by making use of people who have been attempting to describe God and the international. numerous it is leaps of religion, whether it is faith whether. interior the previous testomony, the finished Genesis advent tale became into an attempt to describe how the international and the universe got here to be. They for sure concept God all-valuable, so it is no longer annoying to think of why they got here up with something as remarkable because of the fact the finished six-days clarification -- they knew no longer something of carbon-dating, no longer to point that dinosaurs had walked the earth. so as that they weren't scientists -- so what? There are nonetheless particularly some spectacular parables and teachings approximately the thank you to be an outstanding person. My take on the advent tale is that this: Why would God be in this style of rush? there have been no bleachers finished of witnesses, so what would be His urge to electrify all people. the respond needless to say is that He wasn't in a hurry -- he's far too plenty an artisan than that. :-) So i believe that God is extra valuable than our puny little brains may even start to appreciate -- you recognize, the perception that he's in each and every atom of the universe, and is the forces of nature. hardly some grandfather in flowing gowns sitting on a throne. and that i'd desire to ask your self why you're so gung-ho approximately discrediting all people's faith or ideals. in case you do no longer believe, then be content fabric with that -- there is particularly no desire which you would be able to foist your convictions on others. purely as you do no longer desire somebody rudely attempting to transform you, do no longer likewise rudely attempt to dissuade others from their convictions.

No, I wouldn't "really trust an old book with no evidence to back it up to be our salvation".

Of course, that's NOT the Bible.

Here is a quote for you; you fit right in to it's message because you obviously haven't done any research into the subject: "There is a principle which is a bar to all information, which is proof against all arguments, and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance--that principle is contempt prior to investigation."--Herbert Spencer
The book you refer to is extremely accurate. Did you know that it was written by over 60 people, over centuries and that some of these writers were Kings and some were beggars, some were free and some were slaves? That all these different people could write the same thing about God and about the coming of His Son is miraculous in itself. Did you also know that over 2000 prophesies have been fulfilled in this book? One such is Psalm 22. Psalm 22:1 says,"My God, My God why have you forsaken me?"== Matthew 26:46 says, "About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabach-thani"--Which means, "My God, My God why have you forsaken me?"" also in the same Psalm it says, "Dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me, they have pierced my hands and feet."--Psalm 22:16 "They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing" == Matthew 27:35 says,"When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots."
The Dead Sea scrolls prove that the book of Psalms was written almost 1000 yrs before the Gospel of Matthew. King David actually fortold the future with uncanny accuracy 1000 yrs before Matthew wrote the biography of Jesus!!! This is just 1 example, for more try reading Isaiah. There are many more examples of accurate foretelling in the old testament enough to make Nostradamus look like Kenny Kingston. Another thing that shows the historical and archeological accuracy of the Book in question is the fact that many of the cities and towns mentioned in it still exist today. Of the ones that no longer exist a wealth of archeological evidence remains to show proof of their existence. Of the major battles spoken of in this book we find evidence consisting of rusty sword and arrow fragments.
No evidence?!?!? You haven't bothered to look for it. So your statements are utterly w/o merit. Read and understand before making such obviously ignorant and uninformed assertations.

Yeah. BTW. Moses was very well known. David was KING David. Kings are well known. Jesus was well known. If He wasn't well known, why did they want to kill Him? Ever heard of Him and what He did? He did what He did for you too. The fact of a book being old doesn't mean it's no longer relevant. Arithmetic was put into place a long time ago. Is arithmetic still relevant? Ask a person of Jewish background if they know who Abraham, Issac, and Jacob were. They are VERY well known to them. Jacobs name was changed to Israel. Israel, as in the country of Israel, was named after him. Well known? You decide.

In the past books were few and so the authors were always easy to know, that is the case of the Bible to which I presume you are referring, so the premise of your assumption is false so I guess you need to refrase or rethink or maybe to backtrack

these so-called unkowns became known when they were moved by the Spirit of God to write what they have seen.

i don't see why so many people are under this conspiracy complex, that this is somehow used to control the lives and morals of people today.

i believe in it for very simple reasons, it is a surviving story about my savior.

the realities of "the book" follow through today. THIS is where, even in the bible it speaks of the traditions.

we have traditions that have been around for hundreds of years. i believe, while adapted to today's particulars, they are the same as my great, great, great, great, great et al grandparents did.... same concept.

If your speaking of the Bible, Absolutely. Since you don't believe in God's word, he gives you no understanding of it, so, you're lost.
