There's even less difference between Catholics and Protestants, but the fighting in Belfast, Ireland lasted for decades. It's an ugly part of man's history that may change someday. Perhaps it happens, even today, because almost all religions are mutually exclusive...meaning that 'theirs' is the ONLY way, and that all other religions are wrong. Why couldn't Jesus, Buddha and Mohammed ALL have been messengers of God ? Unless this changes, people will continue to fight and kill, in the name of God.

Your question barely makes sense. If there's isn't much difference, why do they kill each other? Are you kidding? Christians and Muslims are so different. I don't know any Christians anymore who are still engaged in the mentality of killing others. Muslims believe in "killing the infidel til the death." Christians believe in "loving your enemies." They also believe in "You shall not murder." Tell me, along what lines do you find that Christians and Muslims are the same??

The differences between Islam and Christianity in terms of war is just a distraction. Its about power and wealth.

War has nothing to do with religion from the American point of view, the United States are in war against terrorism not against Islam, you may have noticed that we're friends with the Saudi Arabs.

And I think Islam and Christianity are completely different, we believe in Jesus christ as our Lord and Saviour and they see him just as a prophet, we believe in things like bapthism and the Lords supper and they don't, they believe in circumcision (I think) and we believe we're spiritually circumcided in Christ; So I see no similarities.

There is a HUGE difference between the two!
They don't believe that Jesus was the Son of God. They believe he was only a Prophet.
They pray to ALLAH instead of the God of the Bible.
They believe that when they die, they will go to heaven because 72 virgins are awaiting them as their reward. (sick)
They believe they must kill in order to become martyrs. This makes them "holy".

"There isn't much difference between Christians and Muslims" - Really!?!
You don't recognize any significant differences?

There is little difference in their theology but, as people, they couldn't be any more different.

Not an excuse to kill, just an observation.
