I am a Roman Catholic teen, but for the past few months, I have been questioning whether to believe or not. What if Mother Mary, mother of Jesus, made up the whole story that some angels came up to her and said that she was pregant with the messaih Jesus, to avoid being stoned or killed for having sex and becoming pregnant without being married. What if the Roman Catholic faith is based on one huge lie?

How can I improve my relationship with God? My current status makes it very difficult to attend a church. I heard praying and reading the Bible can. I feel really lost right now and need some help. What can I do to improve my relationship with God so I can talk to him properly?

when it seems to be a prophecy about the Catholic Church and how it is wrong about priests marriage & no meats (ex fish) on Fri.

"1The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer."

The situation in North Korea. To those poeple Kim Jyong Yeil is the son of god. And they really believe it. They are cut off from the outside world. No internet, no cell phones, and all t.v. is monitered and supplied through the government. If you study the myths surounding Kim yeil Sung and his son, these are indoctrinated into the poeple at birth. They are gods. Kim yeil sung walked across a river on leaves, and threw pinecones that turned into hand grenades. His son as his successor is believed to be born in a holy place, where in the middle of winter flowers bloomed and the world knew that a great leader was born. When Kim yeil sung died a 1000 cranes decended from the heavens to carry him away. These poeple believe this and honor the regime. The idea was built on confusionism that states that that the state is a body and the head is the great leader, without which neither could exist. My question is this, How is this different from the holy bible, where a culture was isolated and.

the catholic church gets very upset when you ask about the Da Vinci code. it has been my prof. experience that people or groups get very defensive when others may be right about them, i have lived my life beliving that if i feel im right and people don't think tha i am i dont argue nor do i get upset, the church gets very very defensive when asked about the coded accuracy, that tells me they are not telling the entire truth

For example:

Someone might say that sports fanatics actually worship their favorite team since they spend so much time on it.

or

Someone might say that Catholics worship Mary even though they say that they do not.

or

Someone might say that Evolutionists worship evolution.

(I have heard all of these examples stated in real life.)

This is mainly aimed at non-Christians, because I am Christian and I've already encountered a LOT of hostility to my faith. Asking other Christians for more examples would be rather redundant. :-)
I'm asking because I have seen very few questions/answers targeting Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, etc. And I don't really know any non-Christians, although I'm acquainted with several. Maybe it's just me, but it seems that most of the aggravating questions/answers here are targeted at Christians and atheists/agnostics.
Whenever I hear of religious intolerance, it is usually directed at Christians-- probably because I live in a Christian community. So I'm trying to get viewpoints from other groups.

Hence, I'm looking for stories or incidents about hostility that non-Christians have encountered because of their beliefs. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks in advance. :-)

Some Christians have a hard time believing that you can be an atheist and say "Oh my God" or "Jesus Christ" as an expletive.

If an atheist who uses such language is a hypocrite, then I invite Christians themselves to become less hypocritical by adopting my Biblical names for the days of the week, based on the Creation days in Genesis, because everyone knows the days of the week are named after pagan gods no one believes in anymore: Tyers, Woden, Thor, Freyr, Saturn, the Sun, and the Moon (the last three in a pagan or astrological sense).

Therefore:
Monday = Lightday
Tuesday = Skyday
Wednesday = Plantday
Thursday = Starday
Friday = Fishday (or Beastday)
Saturday = Manday
Sunday = Restday

You might want to translate these into Latin or Greek for more zazz, unless you're one of the types who think Jesus spoke English. If someone can give me the Latin or Greek names for these days then they just might be awarded Best Answer on a non-sequitur basis.

God has sacrificed his own son Jesus for the greater good of mankind. Now everyone says that I should be thankful because he sacrificed his OWN son just for me. But i thought that God loved everyone equally sinful or not. Did God only want Jesus to suffer because he did it for the majority of the people?Or does he actually love us more than Jesus Christ?

QUOTE: "Williams and his colleagues conclude that the "association between martial status and mental illness is robust and generalizable" among black and white populations. What's more, they also found that the tremendous benefits a spouse brings to one's mental health COULD NOT BE replicated by a co-habitating mate. The status of marriage -- that piece of paper known as the marriage license-- made the difference." END QUOTE

My husband and I neither want anything religious as part of our funerals because we are Atheists. Have you been to an Atheist's funeral? And if so, what did the ceremony entail? As an Atheist, what would you want at your own funeral?
