In the Carrabean you run into people that are zombie like but you just stare and stay quiet and hope they don't confront you. Camden N.J. too.

When I was in college I ran into what we believer were zombies all the time.
We tried to get a grant to study the issue,
after all zombies could potentially be dangerous,
but our proposal was turned down.
However, while there was not official study proving anything,
We did seem to run into most of the zombies in the morning hours.
Especially the mornings after the big frat parties.
Though no scientific correlation was ever officially proven.

Zombie as in movie zombie, as in being dead/alive? No.
Zombie as in people who are alive and yet dead emotionally? Yes, those people are usually put on restraints and are in camera rooms. It is sad what a human can do to themselves.
