LOL
My take on the Jedi's - Yoda had it all wrong. God made us to be emotional creatures. It is dangerous to separate yourself from all emotion, to cut it off and be like a robot. You should recognize your negative emotions like fear and then deal with them, not bury them.

The never-ending story was the most biblical of all movies. Star Wars is a cheap imitation of right and wrong. Do you think child porn would be outlawed in a godless society? With so many deranged minds what wouldn't become reality? Legal drugs, all of 'em? Why not, there's no way of telling it's wrong. I mean it feels soo good. Or how about we ban alcohol, or smoking? It's not healthy. How about we forbid obesity? Just how much change / evolution can you handle? Ready to lose free will. Think the government won't take away your freedom, your "rights"?

I don't think its all taken directly from the Bible, but its hard not to see the connections or to not admit that they're there. I find it interesting that the top blockbuster movies of all times are loosely derived from the Bible(Lord of the Rings) to name one. I think these movies success has everything to do with the audience subconsciously recognizing the familiar stories in the Bible - or atleast the truth contained in the stories of the Bible.

It was partly inspired by "Hero with a Thousand Faces" by Joseph Campbell. The book examines stories in many cultures that have a hero going on a quest as the main theme.

They both have to do with the battle between good and evil. Star Wars definitely isn't religious, but the morals depicted in the movie can be easily applied to almost any situation.

No more so than the Bible. ;)
It is another story about good vs evil. :) The difference is that typically the bad guys go from being good to being bad... not the other way around like God. ;)
