The Church preserves bones for the very human reason that we venerate the saints and want to be close to their physical bodies.
Springfield, IL, has the physical remains of Abraham Lincoln, and standing at his grave is awe-inspiring. When you love the man, you want to be near him, even it is only a part of the physical body of a man who has gone to live with God.
For the same reason, we bury our beloved family members in cemetery plots--to honor their remains. We want to be near their mortal bodies.
Cheers,
Bruce

The Catholic Church is a cult? LOL. As the earliest Christian denomination, all other Christian religions/denominations have been spawned from the Catholic Church.
All of the great reformers, Luther, Wyatt, Calvin, and so on were firm believers in Catholosim prior to leaving the Church.
And.....in many cases, these reformer weren't protesting any particular dogma as much as they were the corruption in the church - man's (not Gods) corruption of a 1500 year-old organization that had also spawned some evil men....primarily greedy Bishops that overstepped their bounds.
The inquisition, selling of indulgences, and other money making schemes were a result of a few bad Catholics among the millions of true believers.
Regarding "the bones"...........these, among other relics, were considered Holy artifacts in the middle ages -and later. Not much different than a Lutheran clinging on to one of the few surviving copies of Martin Luther's translation of the Bible from Latin to German.
Bones producing water ? Ya' got me there. I've never heard of such a thing.

Some miracles have been attributed to them.
Earthly remains of the saints are venerated because the saints are living members of Christ and their bodies, like ours, were temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 3:16-17, 6:15, 19, Eph. 2:19-22). These remains will one day be awakened and glorified (1 Cor. 15:42-54). While the saints were on earth, God bestowed many graces upon his Church through them (2 Cor. 1:11), and he continues to do so now that they are glorified in God's presence (Heb. 12:1). We honor (dulia) the relics, statues, and images of the saints with a veneration that is directed toward the saints themselves, and in honoring the saints we honor Christ whose members they are (1 Cor. 12:27). In fact, Protestants honor the relics of their dead when they visit or lay flowers on the graves of their loved ones. If a Catholic does something similar with respect to a saint to whom he may have no blood relation, he is accused of idolatry.

They don't distribut the bones. They just preserve them. Some of them produce water because of miracles

you must mean the Roman Catholic church. Catholic simply means Universal church or the body of Christ (his church). I'm an Anglican but I'm also catholic in faith.....I know this isn't the answer you were looking for but I like to educate people on that as it can sound odd for those who are of a catholic denomination.
