My husband and I neither want anything religious as part of our funerals because we are Atheists. Have you been to an Atheist's funeral? And if so, what did the ceremony entail? As an Atheist, what would you want at your own funeral?

A gathering of friends and a celebration of my life. Nothing more.

I want my funeral to be at a popular night club on lady's night. That way there will be a whole bunch of pretty women at funeral. My friends and family will be like "I wonder how many of these chicks are here just for JetThrustPY's funeral?"

I've been to two atheist funerals. One was really empty and the relatives did nothing but fight and talk about each other. But the other one was better. The relatives were respectful to each other and her memory and her boss got up and said some very nice things about her.
Both were burried in a casket.

I'm not having a funeral at all and that is in my Will so no one subverts my wishes. I will be cremated and the ashes spread in the North Atlantic off Bar Harbor, Maine. That's it.

I want to be cremated, and I would prefer a party rather than a funeral...

But, I think funerals are for the living. Beyond the cremation, let them do what they need to do in order to grieve and heal.

I'm rather adamant about the cremation thing (though I wouldn't mind my body being donated to science, either) - I hate to think my dead, useless body would be taking up space somewhere for no good reason other than "tradition".

they have a non-religious rite the place they use the two the common non-religious courthouse marriage vows or they write the vows themselves. they might have the marriage in a position different than a church--a park, abode, courthouse, trip spot, etc. they gets married by potential of a choose, magistrate, or somebody else who's authorized to accomplish criminal marriages. Atheist funerals will happen at a funeral abode or cemetery. pals, kin, co-workers communicate related to the decedent's accomplishments, what style of individual they have been, examine their well-liked poem, share suggestions, etc. no longer probably that plenty diverse than different peoples', different than they pass away out faith.

The atheists in my social group choose cremation as a way for the disposal of their remains, and so do I. I have created, in my will, for the provision of funds that will be used for the celebration of my life. Leaving ones mortal existence is just a temporary state of being. I will use the time in my amorphous form to review the dynamics of my former existence. I will reincarnate in a human physical form that will provide me with the opportunity for experiences that will result in my spiritual growth.

Cremated and spread on my favorite highway. No funeral just a celebration of my glaring awesomeness.

No joke, have a party. People need to celebrate your life in a way that will help them end their mourning. Have a band play, get catering, make sure that a happy environment is encouraged, not a graveyard scene where everyone starts crying.

Be cremated and have it done the same day you die. Then have your husband take them home and place them on the dresser. There is no ceremony, just do the job and get it done.

I don't much care to be honest. I would prefer a cremation and spreading off the ashes just to spare my family the financial burden of my death as much as possible.
