Sad but true. I personally do everything in my power to keep preconceived notions in check. I feel that if God is your Father then you are my brother or sister as the case may be.

I'm not sure where you've gotten the idea that Christians are racist. In my Church alone, we have people that regularly attend that represent 104 different nations.
Perhaps you'd like to share whatever it is that's made you believe that racism and intolerance are tolerated by Christians?

God created the races, and said it was good. Better understanding is what is needed.
God chose Israel's race to be His people.
Ezra 9:2 "For they have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy race has intermingled with the peoples of the lands; indeed, the hands of the princes and the rulers have been foremost in this unfaithfulness."
1 Pet 2:9 But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
Jer 31:1 "At that time," declares the LORD, "I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people."
Amos 3:2 "You only have I chosen among all the families of the earth;
Therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities."
Apparently God thought His people were a superior race- of sinners!
Acts 3:25 "It is you who are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, 'AND IN YOUR SEED ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED.'
Zech 9:6 And a mongrel race will dwell in Ashdod, And I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.
This is strange to me in that a mongrel race is not a race at all. It is a destruction of two separate races, this is the ultimate form of racial hatred.
God, the race creater. Who can deny it?

I don't see a lot of racism in the church, are your sure that you aren't prejudiced against Christians, thinking that we are all racists? There may a few racists, but that shouldn't come as a big surprise. All Christians are sinners and all sins are represented.

Every time I go to church, I'm surrounded by people of a very wide variety of ethnicities and races. Services are also conducted in multiple languages. I'm not sure where the racism lies in a diverse, ethnically mixed congregation.

I believe some churches are like that. My sister and I went to a church where the members were predominately white. No one greeted us, as a matter of fact a woman (whom we later learned was the pastor's wife) rushed past us to speak to a white man who came in behind us. When we asked them about it after service their comment was "we have a black woman in the choir." I didn't come in here to sing! More hypocrisy. I no longer attend church, I'm too outspoken to just sit and listen to the bull.

Racist Christian is an oxymoron.
Ever been to a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses where the majority are a colour different from yours? You'd be pleasantly surprised....

Actually, throughout a lot of the bible, Jehovah is extremely racist. Pretty much everything he did and said in the Old Testament had to do with his "chosen people." The notion of a "chosen people" is inherently racist. When those "chosen people" are considered more holy than all other races, it is blatant bigotry. The concept of Jews being "clean" and gentiles being "unclean" is absolute and total racism. pure and simple.
Even Jesus himself showed racist bigotry. He referred to the Jews as "children" and non-Jews as "dogs".
Matthew 18
22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Then came she and worshiped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
The bible actually promotes racism.

People use religion for excuses for bad behaviour. I'm pretty sure Jesus would have no truck with racism.
