If someone had a news conference and showed a cute little kitten and said "We made this kitten out of dirt" what would your reaction be? Would you just believe them, or would you want some sort of evidence that they really did? Even if you were not a scientist, wouldn't you expect some kind of empirical proof? If something totally defies logic how can I accept it just on the word of someone else? I am not trying to put down anyone, I just want to explain why I need proof.

When movies such as "The Golden Compass" comes around (holding atheistic tones) Christians make SUCH a big deal about it?! Please...can someone PLEASE explain...Same deal with non-atheist movies/books, like Harry Potter, it's a book/movie series!! It gives out good morals and teachings!! Why praise such a movie that just OOZES with Christian stuff, yet when a movie comes around that doesn't have such a Christian meaning (aka the Compass and H.P. books/movies) those that do complain and whine about it? Somoene explain please...I'm helplessly confused

Allah (swt) is a name and it means uncreated therefore this should be said instead of god

Ok! I spent a lot of time this year reading the rants from atheists, continually denying and knocking christianity.

So. Tell the truth now. How many atheists have told their employers that they don't want to take the Xmas holiday because they don't believe in it?

How many atheists will refuse to accept or give xmas presents?

How many will not eat or drink excessively, and avoid enjoying themselves more than usual?

It should be all of you. To celebrate or join in on something in which you don't belive must be the epitome of hypocrisy!

Matthew 5:19: Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Mark 10:19: "You know the commandments: 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.' "

Matthew 19:17: "If you want to enter life, obey the commandments."

I have a long way to go to prepare for our Saviors birth, still many dusty corners of selfishness and greed, and sloth swept under the rugs. Painful job cleaning but who would invite such a Guest without it? "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel!"

Peace Be With You,
Debra

I'm agnostic, makes no difference to me which way the discussion swings.

If anyone out there could offer any say....
Biblical prophecies that have come true?
Faults in the Bible?
etc.

Basically just any evidence that goes against/for the existence of God and the truth in Christianity.

That'd be great.
Thanks.

Christians have all these other stories about where the word Amen came from, and what it means, but the first Amen, that existed long before Christianity came about was the Egyptian sun god "Amen Ra" Go look it up... So why are you worshipping an Egyptian Sun God? Is Christianity an Egyptian religion? Are Isis and mary, and horus and jesus all the same thing? Why does the pope have an egyptian obelisk (phallus) at the Vatican in the courtyard?
