I'm not addicted, but I do like to watch it. I can go a while without, but inevitably I look again. What do I do? Whats the point of calling myself a christian if I'm just going to keep sinning? I hate this.

I am looking for a good Church in Charlotte, NC. Here are somethings I look for in a church, and if you know of a place like that, please advise. Looking for openminded, devoted Christians who are accepting of people in all walks of life. Christians who don't mind getting dirty to meet people where they are. Somewhere that offers bible study and is biblically accurate. Not looking for places that outwardly state women are not supposed to be in authority roles. Accepting of homosexuals and with a large population of young, single fearless people of the Lord. I know, I know, it's a long shot. Oh, and if you don't like what I am looking for in a church, please don't comment. (because i don't care.) Serious responses only.

By secular state I mean one in which government and religion don't interfere with one another.

By theocracy I mean one in which the laws are based on religious practices (and there is an official religion).

By an "atheist state" (which isn't a real term) I mean one that has laws banning religion.

Which of these would you prefer to live in, and why? Also, feel free to state your religious beliefs (or lack thereof).

Personally, I would like a secular state. I have no problem with what people believe, but I don't think religious beliefs ought to interfere with policy decisions.

This is in response to (Theists Are Here Seeking Freedom) as that person will not allow me to answer tat question, so I will ask it myself.

Is the Christian free to celebrate a holiday that not only has pagan origins, but also is used by the unbelieving world a promotion of commercialism? In my opinion, it depends.
The Christians must hold his standard of righteousness and devotion to God above those of the world. The Old Testament says that we are to worship God in truth according to the dictates that He has established (Exodus 20:1-4; 24:12-31:18). Christmas was not established by God. In addition, there are no records at all of the early church celebrating the birth of Christ.
On the other hand, there are those who say we have freedom Christ and can celebrate any day we want to. Paul says, "All things are lawful, though not all are profitable" (1 Cor. 6:12).
Should we then participate in the celebration of a festival origins and exceeding commercialism?

It's our holiday, so why don't they let us enjoy it in peace without mention of their god?

on friday my bf and i found out that a friend of ours died. he was stabbed but his aunt's bf. on saturday we visited his family's home where he lived and where it happend. my bf and i sat in the yard right infront of the police tape. i felt as though he was right behind me. that night we got home at 2 a.m. and i remembered sitting up on my bed and a big gray cloud brought my friend. he asked me if i enjoyed myself and i told him yes. we had a short conversation then he asked for some water. i felt as though my spirit went to the kitchen and brought back a silver cup with the water and gave it to him. while he was drinking i layed down and the cloud started covering him. then i woke up in the same position i remembered laying down. i text my bf saying that Aaron chatted with me. he replied saying that the same thing happened to him but he cudnt remember what he said. was i dreaming or did it really happen? was it a coincedence that it happened to my bf as well?

This already happens in in-vitro fertilization clinics. They fertilize a batch of eggs and then "screen out" undesirable qualities like down syndrome, etc. I'm not arguing this point at this time.

Right now, there is nothing (no laws) to stop parents from screening out other qualities, like height, hair and eye color. Should we allow parents to "customize" their children in this fashion?

Please state if you are pro-choice or pro-life and your religion.

*** Keep in mind that these were written in and about the 1st century ***

“Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished. “ (Matt. 24.34a)

“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show unto his servants, even the things which must shortly come to pass” (Rev. 1.1)

“for the time is at hand.” (Rev. 1.3b)

“And he saith unto me, Seal not up the words of the prophecy of this book; for the time is at hand.” (Rev. 22.10)

“Behold, I come quickly” (Rev. 22.12a)

“He who testifieth these things saith, Yea: I come quickly.” (Rev. 22.20a)

Remember, the Bible said that these things would happen soon and that these were written IN THE FIRST CENTURY.

If they did not happen in or near the first century, how could the Bible be true?

I love to eat pork, too. Sausages, hot dogs, pork chops,
barbecue pig, and bacon. Yes. Perhaps the best meat
in the world, other than chicken. But there are some who
do not eat this particular food. I wonder what is the reason
for this...... Give me your take on this topic, please.
And also tell me if pork, is good for you, or not. Well,
a slight change of gears. That's OK, though. Yeah, come
on by. Let's talk about this. Is eating pork a sin ?
Some say that it is unclean, and is not made for the
human body. Hmmmm. Best answer wins. ~~~

This term has meaning in your faith, that I think most non-Muslims are unaware of. When most non-Muslims hear the word "Jihad," it really freaks them out. So, what does it really mean to you? Does it really mean to convert on the blade of a sword? Or is there some other, less violent meaning?

Please, Muslims only. No disrespectful answers. I am asking this to understand more, and to clear up any misconceptions I may have, and yes I ask this out of respect.

They have other religions for that and if u cant find one that believes what u want, u can start a whole new one...

1 John 5:19 We know we originate from God but the whole world lies in the power of the wicked one.
Romans 13:1 let every soul be in subjection to the superior authorities ,for there is no authority except by God , the existing authoritys stand placed in their relitive positions by God.
If God has allow the wicked one to hold the power over all the world ,then the wicked one must have a God given authority to rule , so should we not be in subjection to that authority

to clarify: has your particular religion (in the sociocultrual sense, not the personal one) reached its final evolution?
and dont freak out about "evolution" i use it in the cultural sense not the genetic one.

another way to put it: could your particular religion change its leadership style, style of worship or beliefs in the future? has it in the past?

please state your religion if you have one. if you dont have one, you can answer for all religions and belief systems
