My cousins ex wife is JW - and i have shared some of the story before - so I'd prefer not to go into it again - it was terribly destructive I'm sad to say -- she was such a lovely, friendly, open girl when i first met her - but cults have a way of destroying the soul - and bringing confusion to the mind -- it's her children i feel for now - but i pray God will set them free one day.
I have had some dealings with other witnesses - all very nice people - until they talk about their beliefs - and confusion comes in - and i have to cut off all communication - confusion and the enemy are best friends...
I know i will have disagreement for my answer - but i have told you the truth - and that's why i'm here.
I don't believe anyone who says there are no problems in their family b/c of JW's - if there isn't at the moment, there will be at some point - they are not Christians - it's a cult - and they have their own bible - definitely not Christian. The truth will come out in the end.
Just to add: A few yrs ago local JW's complained to our local council about Christmas lights going up in the town centre, b/c they don't agree with celebrating Christmas - the council ignored them thankfully - each to their own i say - and i love celebrating the Birth of Christ my Saviour and Lord. We have beautiful angel lights in the town this yr.

All I can say is yes, you should be worried, and I'd be praying for that family member, that one day they'll get to know Jesus Christ as he really is, not as he is portrayed in the Jehovah's Witness Faith. The Christian bible states that any gospel taught which is in contrary with Christ and his salvation is the "other gospel" and is strictly prohibited. Some of these faiths are labeled cults because they have all of the characteristics of cults, and some of these beliefs have been known to abuse their members. The Rose Publishing Company online, has a chart labeled "Christianity, Cults, and the Occult". This chart explains biblical christianity, and then next to it there are other religions and cults which are compared to what the bible says about each doctrinal belief, and explains how they differ. I strongly suggest you get it. It's a valuable tool so that you will be informed about what cults are and how they affect your life.

I found it upbuilding. Some in my family have become Witnesses, some haven't, no big problems or issues. I think the fact that Christians are encouraged to be loving probably helps Witnesses to be even more dedicated to their families.

Jehovah Witnesses and their schismatic sects the Ang Dating Daan and Iglesia ni Cristo are huge problems here in the Philippines. Many families have been destroyed and here families are everything. I have two nephews who have fallen for the teaching of this false church (Ang Dating Daan) and it has caused unbelievable problems in the family. I also have a cousin that attends the Kingdom Hall but have no problem receiving gifts at Christmas and birthdays. Since these sects cut them off from any truth all we can do is pray for them to come home to Christ's Church.
In Christ

My family are all JW except me and my father. The advantages in my opinion is that the ones who follow that religion are happy, they have found the answers they are were looking for, and so it makes them much happier people, they draw comfort from their beliefs (much the same as anyone does when they find the religion that suits them).

My aunt did, but it didn't affect my life in any way. Her kids all celebrate Christmas and birthdays now, though. None of them are practicing, nor have they married Jehovah's Witnesses.

Jehovah's witnesses are Christian, at least. I just found out that my nephew is now Buddhist. Buddhist teachings are great but where is one without Jesus?

My mom is Jehovah Witness, I don't think anything of it. It doesn't effect what I believe.
