to clarify: has your particular religion (in the sociocultrual sense, not the personal one) reached its final evolution?
and dont freak out about "evolution" i use it in the cultural sense not the genetic one.
another way to put it: could your particular religion change its leadership style, style of worship or beliefs in the future? has it in the past?
please state your religion if you have one. if you dont have one, you can answer for all religions and belief systems

extra credit: if religions are still evolving, what are they evolving toward? away from each other, or toward a single one? how long will it take?

Faith and religion aren't the same thing, but most think that they are not knowing what either truly is.
Religion is man's attempt to justify himself before God. There is pure religion, which is the manifestation of the knowledge of God in one's personal life, and it doesn't have anything to do with being part of a belief system, which most people think is "a religion," except when it applies to the faith once delivered to the saints, which is true faith.
Faith is true when it is applied to the knowledge of God in Christ Jesus. This is truth. The doctrine of Jesus Christ is what we know about God, and it is perfected, by him in the heart of each one of us when we believe and continue to act on what we believe. That's what faith in Jesus Christ is. Some call it a religion.

Religion is not "perfect". Religion doesn't want to be perfect. It just wants people to think it's perfect or "good enough". Religion just wants people to think of it as something that it's not.
Christianity has nothing to do with religion. When using the word "evolution" or to evolve as to say, more "up to date" more concern on how people "feel" etc.... For any Christian church that allow itself to be more into humanism vs. what the Word of God reads, can no longer be considered a Christian church. It would therefore only be considered a place just for social gatherings, or religious.
Knowing these facts, your question really has nothing to do with Christianity.
This is not to say we are perfect.
A Christian should seek to live a life that is clean, holy and above reproach. He should exhibit both attitude and actions so as to be of good report. Practices which are questionable or which may cause another person to stumble or which may mar the testimony of Christ should be avoided altogether. Therefore personal standards of demeanor and deportment are expected (Eph. 2:10; 4:1; 5:1-4; Phil. 1:27; 3:14-21; 4:8-9).
The differences between a Christian and a religious person is, a Christian serve the will of God: "I die daily to self."
The day is coming when people will see a One World Religion. It will all come under the vatican. But Christians won't be here.

This side of Heaven, nothing is perfect. If religion were perfected, there'd be a much better world we'd be living in. I grew up in a Southern Baptist church in Mississippi and now attend a Southern Baptist church in Missouri (after being away from the SBC for a VERY long time) and it's nearly as different as night and day. All things change.

You would have thought so after all the time that they have had, but sadly no.
The ultimate religion would, surely, have one God. It took thousands of years to get to that.
They could also practice what they preach and eat humble pie to achieve more unity between themselves. This would give them significantly more strength.
So - One God plus one set of rules (doctrine). No way. Too many leaders jealously defending what power they (the leaders)have.
Historically, more sects are being born to dilute religion each year.
It's all to do with personal power. Sect leaders prefer being a big cog on a small wheel rather than an insignificant member of a big powerful religion.

Your double negative is confusing. is more souls being saved a good thing?
To me, and my soul was saved years ago before I saw the light of godlessness, saved souls are starting on the road to tormenting themselves and their consciences, being full of guilt and sadness. I found that joy was only a often repeated verbally expressed emotion in the company of fellow believers. When on my own I suffered from the above guilt etc., and I bet you do too.
But each to his own, if you like it stick to it.
But try to get your English sorted. Ask God for help. that's why She is there.

None has.
Once I retire, I will retire to the Dominican Republic and start a new religion (not to be religious of course, just to rule over a whole bunch of people).
It will be consistent, cope with evolution, cope with the question of "what about all the people who never heard of this, will they go to hell?", cope with "why does God kill babies", infuriate Richard Dawkins by being more smug than him ... and make me insanely rich.
It will also cope with explaining where all the other religions went wrong and will have enough there to con Europeans as well as Americans.
Long way to go yet.

I wouldn't say it has been perfected at all! There are many denominations because all of them are imperfect. If the religion was perfect (Divine), it would speak to all, stay true through the test of time, and bring all the believers together under one God (instead of many variation of the same God).
**Extra**
Away from each other. The more people involved the harder it is to follow in one group and believe in one religion. Mere probability is not on their side.

in christianity there are 2 kinds..basically.
religiousness
and relationship with GOD/son/holy spirit.'
i'm penecostal..trained by the holy spirit 1john..vs train religiousness by men..which deny the power of GOD.
so to answer question. eph 4 said..holy apostles.prophets, ect.will PERFECT THE CHURCH/bride..who submit to her spiritual husband.(jesus). satan is the adulter.
so the evolution is coming..sooner.
than you think.
the catholic pope has recieve the baptism of the holy spirit..and to date 250 millions catholic in europe speak in tongues..like the penecostal does.
which mean a new church is coming..as in UNITY of the body of CHRIST..which had been prophecized to come..as a sign of END TIME.
also the Jewish are now becoming Christians
which is another SIGNS of evolution
of ONE BODY IN CHRIST..is happening NOW.
soon the baptist, ect..will be speaking in TONGUES..which they totally resist..but it will come.
and when will the church reach perfection?
certianly in our lifetime..by the sign post of many natural facts, 40 years had come and gone..this generation shall see the end of the age..still stand. so we got ? 30? 60 more years ago..or much shorter..who knows..the date..i said the time span.
anyway..john 14:12 said..we the bride who have his likness image..his name..his wealth..his health .his power of the name..the blood..the spirit..we change the world..very quickly.
like in a marriage the wife recieve the husband name and fame and wealth.
so when the church recieve this.
it iwll be the likeness of we the people coming out of egypt/the world economy.
entering into the spiritual promise land of health..and wealth and fame and spiritual power over satan kingdom here on earth...the adam godship will be well noted..in the spiritual world..
THEN..sign in heaven..of Chrsit coming..that sinners..doubter..mocker..ect..fear DEATH is upon them..but it don't happen..we disappeeared suddenly..have you notice..the UFO is now being accepted in USA government? a signpost of endtime.
surely you've notice..national ID card.
as well the TARES of islam are being removed..so that the wheat in middle east can recieve JESUS as their savior.
great changing are coming.
the last will be first
and the first generation will be last
becuase they didn't prepared self to believe or to recieve what had been prophecized.
if you think aobut it..back in the 60's folk deny witchcraft has power..run from presence of ghost or demons..this younger generation are not afraid of the unknown as much as our grandparent or parent.

Good question.
I wonder what Christians in 500 years will think when they look back on our era. Will they shake their heads in the same way that we do when we look back on the Inquisition or the crusades?
Evolution is a powerful process...

What would be the point? Since religion is supposed to be divinely inspired then wouldn't the fact that it changes just testify that it is in fact fake and man made?

religions never stop changing, just like any other social institution
edit: some religions will get closer together, some farther apart. Some will die out, and some will be created. If you look at history, you can see how complex it is
