For example atheist's (not all) criticize ones past or a flaw they have presently so that they can not be credited for the good they try to bring to people. Can you honstly believe all of your scientist's dont drink or might have a bad past? But you are willing to believe thier theories.

I recently read a wonderful mythological story from a Greek poet called Ovid. In it his story sounded similar to a story in the bible. Since this was written prior or during the time of the story of the destruction of Sodom and Gamorrah, could this be the same story but rewritten to use as a "bible" story? Ovids story uses a great flood similar to Noahs to destroy the village but the analagies of the destruction told in the bible of Sodom and Gamorrah If so, which one would be the "true" story? If Ovids story was written first and considered a myth and the similar story the bible truth, then what is the real story? You decide.

And please, do not preach or quote scripture, I know the bible and several other texts so no need to remind me. I want to see if you can see the similarities and make your comments to such.
Thank you

Here's my observation of the present state of affairs:

Christian says: "My God is the ONLY true God because my religious book says so".
He is right.

Muslim says: "My God is the ONLY true God because my religious book says so".
He is a fundamentalist and a possible terrorist.

Why is it like that? Need your comments please.

How are we able to grow anything? The amount of salt water that would have been absorbed into the soil would have rendered it sterile for a few thousand years, yet Noah was growing grapes very shortly after the flood.

If you are going to tell me that the oceans were less salty please provide me with documented evidence of such.

Christians always go on about free-will.

However, the scriptural evidence seems to be in overwhelming favor of predestination.

Is there support for free-will in the bible or is Calvin correct?

I heard many times that Christians believe that God loves everybody (even bad people??) & Jesus took everybody's suffering so that other can go to heaven.
Is above true?
If he loves everybody how does bad people get punished?

When is a pine tree just a tree & a Christmas tree a religious symbol of one's faith? Is a blow up Frosty the snowman a religious symbol or just a fat snowman with a smirk? Does one candle in 8 windows mean it's for Hanukkah or is it just decoration? Did you just make snow angels on yellow snow or did you just flatten a squirrel underneath?

i was just reading about a case in texas where a man was executed for murder even though he was not present when the crime was committed, and even though the murderee was killed by a single shot which everyone agreed the murderer had not fired.

of course it was texas, and the murderer was black while the murderee was a white jew.

can somebody explain the texas murder laws to me? or is it just that in texas being black is always a capital offence?
