You are wasting way too much energy! Simply tell him you are thinking, concentrating, defraging.....whatever. You need to learn to detract people from your personal space, even if the person is in close proximity. This isn't being rude, this is being assertive and honest. It's rude for someone to continue to keep talking to you after you have politely asked them not to.
