No. It depends on where you go. The church is growing rapidly, and more then likely, anywhere you go, we will find at least a branch there. Although, the "normal" things that we see in Utah are different then what you would see in other places.
Most people somewhere else wouldn't understand if you said "Yeah.. they are in my ward", or most of the other things we say here referring to the church.
I think in Utah, we get lulled into this sense that everyone is LDS, and we don't need to worry about it. I've learned this isn't the case. My neighborhood is pretty mixed, about half and half, and so it's getting less popular here all the time.

In Utah, it's overwhelming, in Idaho, it's unavoidable, in some other states, it's like any other religion, and in some places, it's pretty much unheard of.
In my hometown the fringe religions are all conveniently on one street - there's a Kingdom Hall, a Buddhist temple, an LDS church, and a nutbar nondenom all within about two miles of each other.
EDIT: Here's a link with stats on LDS populations - Utah 71%, Idaho 26%, everyone else much lower.

Mostly west of the Rocky Mountains is the Mormon religion popular. But there are growing areas in the church besides the west like Virginia, Texas and Florida.
Mexico has a million members of the church
Brazil, Chile, Argentina, The Phillipines, Guatemala and El Salvador has large numbers of members as well.

Mormonism is big in Utah because Mormons are the one's who settled the state, and Salt Lake City is the world headquarters of the Mormon church.

according to the last conference report in October 2007 there are now more Latter Day Saints outside the United States than in the United States, just because those of us outside of Utah don't yell as loud doesn't mean we are not out here. All my friends know I am LDS

I'm LDS, and I will tell you that no, the church headquarters and a big portion of its members live in Utah and to a lesser degree, some of the surrounding states.
I just had to laugh when I saw this from another responder: "Dont let all the churches and temples they are building fool ya. That is part of their deceit." LOL Yup, we're building empty buildings all over the place to fool people into thinking there's more Mormons than there really are. :-) Too funny.

some human beings hate the Mormon faith by means of fact they have been advised lies appropriate to the church, and that they think the evil lies. "Magic" underclothes, as an occasion. Others hate the Mormon church for an identical motives lots of hated Jesus whilst he walked the earth. I understand your remark that the Mormon faith is the main huge-unfold in Salt Lake city.

It is very prevalant in Idaho, Nevada, Arizona and Southern California. I would say only in Idaho, though, is it almost as popular as Utah.

I live in southern ca so go ahead and tell me just how small the church is here, since you like to believe you are the authority on everything mormon.
You reallly need to get over it.
telldatruth
you have constantly made it your point to go to every mormon question you can find and tell half truths and straight out lies. Your answer questions like we worship Joseph Smith and never mention Christ in our testimonies which is just straight out bull. You make it seem like we are being decieved and lied to at every corner by our leadership (who happens to be us in the congregation which you would know if you actually were mormon like you claim)
You make idiotic statements like our fruit of our church is evil so we must be, aka the flds church. Hey I bet you anything I can find a few bad apples in whatever church you go to.
You have this vendetta against the mormon church that is just kind of ridiculous.
You must have incredible back pain with the weight of that huge chip on your shoulder you seem to carry around all the time.
You dont like the church, fine, we get it. But you cant make complete ridiculous statements and continue to bash on the church at every turn and not expect someone to call you on it. It is actually pretty sad that you seem to have wasted sooo much time and energy on a faith system you claim you dont want any part of anymore.

It is very popular in Idaho, the Northern parts of Nevada & the Western parts of Wyoming. I grew up there so I know exactly what you mean, if you move to another part of the US it isn't the same.
But at least you can get fry sauce in Utah. ;)
