For some reason I keep having the same dream. Jack, The Nolte, Brandon, and myself are putting on a full monty show for the VT's and their friends & loved ones. Right at the end, when we yank off the break-away pants, the power goes out. Chaos ensues, the stage gets mobbed, and we gentlemen on stage have far too many roaming hands groping at us in the dark.

What could it mean?

He plants evidence that suggests that life stared through evolution. He plants evidence that suggest the earth is five billion years old. And then he says that anyone who doesn't believe in the literal truth of The Bible, is off to Hell. A place of unending torment. That is the work of a loving and just God?

I look forward to the one liners that explain nothing and the long Biblical quotes.

I work at a Christian University in the Maintenance Department. Recently we started having a mandatory meeting on Monday. The first part of the meeting was basic shop talk and ends with a short Bible based devotional and prayer. The devotional material is straight from the Bible, but if it were to have a slant one way it would be Nazarene to Non-denominational. We have a group of Mexicans that did not want to attend as they thought it would be like changing their faith. Is this a true sentiment? Is it wrong for Catholics to attend other denominational meetings that are Christian?

Hey, theologians and other Biblical scholars! Can you help me? I want to know the original Greek word used in Colossians 2:14 for 'ordinances.' ( I was told this word was an incorrect translation in the KJV of the original Greek word).

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross...

Thanks in advance for your help!

John 17:3
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

1 Corinthians 8:4,6
4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.

6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

If they are calling the Father the only true God, then its obvious that Jesus did not consider himself a true God.

Comment on THESE scriptures please.

when I watch R&S I see on many occasions Christians asking for ppl to pray for them and help them because of illness ,partner problems ,issues on the forum ,family trouble ,school ,deaths ,Children ,I think you get the general Idea! so as I said it is mostly Christians and Muslims that I have seen with these sort of questions! have they lost their ability to deal with real life emergencies because they are too involved with religion??????? I do not see Atheists behave that way! they take care of themselves and move on or am i wrong???? is the dependence on a God like entity of negative impact to a persons social troubles - or simply trouble of any kind??????????????

this is solely coming from one of my group member's component in a project that we had to do on contributions made by Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. She was supposed to find contributions made by Christianity and this is what she has so far:

1) Created churches for worshipping God
2) Established church congregations to help others
3) Contributed to neo-poetry, drama, short stories, and journalism ( I think she is referring to the Bible)
4) Improved medical facilities
5) Improved methods of treatments and medications

I don't know whether it's me, but some of it feels inaccurate, so I was sondering if anyone can tell me which ones are true and which ones are incorrect. I have no idea where she got this information from. Also, I woud immensly appreciate it if you mention a few other contributions made by Christianity to other religions or today;s world.

I don't get this? people don't identify there christian faith with what sin they are involved in. We all are sinners so why not just say I am a Christian saved by grace, and work daily to be obedient to GOD.

I heard that it was a Pagan Festival for 1000s of years before Jesus.

Romans called it Saturnalia which sounds Satanic..

They had Wild parties and Sexual Orgies on this day to celebrate the Winter Solstice...

Apparently the Clever Popes of the Christians chose this day to be the Birthday of Christ as it was already so Popular..

Is this true? Was Jesus involved? are Orgies OK at Christmas then? I'm so confused..

I asked, "Why do some Christians make a big deal out of there being millions of Christians in a nation of over a billion, which makes the overall percentage small?" I can't remember the exact wording I used, but that was the question. It got deleted, stating that it wasn't a question. ?? Is that not why it began with the word "why?"
I think I may have accidentally ruffled some Christian feathers last night. If I must be put on the rack for the infraction, can I at least go out with the title of "Anti-Christ?" In honor of the holiday spirit, will someone please nominate me "Anti-Christ?"

Mar 4:37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
Mar 4:38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
Mar 4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Mar 4:40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
Mar 4:41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

They'll see my triquetra necklace and ask what it is/represents.
They'll assume it's part of Satan, then I tell them it's not; it's based on Nature. Should I just not tell them and let them be ignorant and hide myslf (in a sense of not talking about it)? I really don't get how it's scary and that I'm aggressive when I say, "Where does this assumption of it being Satan come from? We do believe in our Lord Jesus."

My mom is catholic.. and me and my bf go to church with her sometimes.. both of us are as well.. any way this is not question regarding regilion so much as morals..in our church there is a book that is kept where most churches keep the hyme book... every year they get a new.. and in it is the prayer for each time there is mass.. and hymes.. well when me and my bf got up to go out side for a minute.. she gave me the book and wrapped it in a sheet of paper and told me to take it.. i told her no way.. there are some things i just don't do.. it will bring about bad luck.. or karma which ever you believe in.. and that it is stealing from the church.. she told me it was not.. that they did not care.. so she wrapped it up in the paper and went to take communion.. and we left as mass was over as soon as communion was.. who is right on this one.. is it stealing..

that some people live their entire lives THINKING that they believe in God, but they really don't?

And that they honestly don't even know that they don't believe?

I think I know some people like this.

They tell themselves (and others) that they believe, but they never think about what they do and don't believe. They say it because they were taught to.

Could there be some disbelief that runs so deeply and quietly in our sub/un-conscience that we don't know it's there? Could there be some doubt that would take super-human powers of introspection to be in touch with?

How many everyday church goers make deep introspection and self analysis a daily habit? How many of them are taught that questioning anything about God is a sin?

Do you believe that the Roman soldier's remark to Jesus is the most basic human prayer? "Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief."
