i lost a friend Dec 1, 2007, this past saturday. It hurts really bad and the sorrow has actually turned to anger. anger of life. i just keep thinking of how he started his day before he was shot down at 8:30p.m by someone who was so evil. i think about how many people he talked to that day or how he had planned his day out to be. He just had a baby girl 3mos i see him being with his baby and the other kids or talking to his mom telling her he'd be home whenever. He never got to see that and now his life being taken has hurt not only me but his family and everyone who loved him. why? why are people born into families that abuse them or harm them? we have no say so of anything but the present time. We couldnt chose our parents. NO one living asked to be here. Why should those who suffer, suffer for someone elses mistakes in life? i think the world is just f'kd up. i mean its not right that someone has to die so young. He just turned 28. I read about an 18 and 9 yr old getting killed why

I owe 175 on my eletric. I received a letter that once it reaches 245 that they can still shut me off during winter months.
Today I received a letter from my old landlord & he wont give me my security deposit back which I REALLY need. I have no money to get a lawyer not even 50- for small claims to fight it. He is making up all this stuff to keep it. I dont know what to do I am litterally stressing. If it wasnt for my kids that I love I think that I would go crazy. If anyone can please help me at all I would really appreciate it. If not can you atleast pray.Thank You so much & god bless

I know all about the supernatural powers and the "God's my father" rhetoric, ok, but what was the real motive by which Christ became subversive against the Roman Empire?
What was his political agenda?

Prominent creation scientist Em Adjineri (she's baa-aack) has recently discovered a mummified hadrosaur that disproves evolution. By "discovered," I mean she skimmed an article about it.

It is clear that such a dinosaur proves the Creation "Museum" in Kentucky's claim that people and dinosaurs coexisted. There have never been any examples of animals other than humans capable of mummifying a corpse.

Since there's no evidence for animals that mummify corpses, animals that mummify corpses can't exist (right, atheists?). Therefore, that dinosaur must have been mummified by humans. But if humans mummified that dinosaur, they must have known it when it was alive. It was probably their pet, like Dino on that documentary "The Flintstones."

Since the Bible is the only source that claims that dinosaurs and humans coexisted (Job 40:15), and the Bible is accurate on that point, the entire Bible must be literally true. Therefore, creationism is a better theory than evolution.

So, I posed this exact sentiment before, and since I forgot to post in the form of a question, somebody reported it as a violation. So, I am asking for your feedback once again.... The Bible, and Jesus tell followers to love others as Jesus loved us. And even to PRAY for our enemies. To turn the other cheek, and that if someone asks for your jacket to give them also your shirt.
It seems this country (USA) particularly is full of purported Christians who only pass judgement on those not in exact line with their own beliefs, this includes people of other religions, and even those of other demoninations of Christianity, which in and of itself is against what the bible tells us, we are supposed to stand together as Christians. Instead of turning the other cheek when attacked, we turn our back when others are attacked, and oft times even do the attacking. 30 million children a year die of starvation, and Christians are some of th wealthiest ppl in the world, why not do something good?

This is just a thought I had, since christian's are having their rights taken away left and right, things like
saying God's name in schools
telling people about what we believe
talking about creation (our belief) in certain settings
hanging the ten commandments in our place of work
ECT.

If these things are being pushed, along with people TARGETING christians to have "RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE"
and such, when they don't tell muslims or anyone else to have religious tolerance (as much)...

All this considered, do you think people are against christians rights?

Again, just a thought...

Thanks

It doesn't make any sense to me. I admire the few Mormon's that I know for what seems to me to be a strong moral compas and strong family values. So what if they don't go to the same brick and morter church. I don't get it.

Didn't Christ himself say not to judge lest you be judged? I guess ignorance and arrogance do go hand in hand.

After eleven months of trying to Not make this election about religion, campaigns like Huckabee's and McCain's keep trying to paint themselves as more "Christian" than the others. Now, Romney has to get out there and say "Hey, Mormons are Christians, too", or people are just gonna stay home on primary/caucus days. Do you think Christianity should be an issue?

From Wikipedia: There is a theory that Christians in the fourth century assigned December 25 (the Winter Solstice on the Julian calendar) as Christ's birthday (and thus Christmas) because pagans already observed this day as a holiday. This theory is much disputed, as the dates of Saturnalia are not coincident with Christmas. A more refined argument is that Christmas was set on the feast of Sol Invictus, which was on December 25, and which had supplanted Saturnalia. However, others claim that early Christians independently came up with the date of December 25 based on a Jewish tradition of the "integral age" of the Jewish prophets (the idea that the prophets of Israel died on the same dates as their birth or conception), and a miscalculation of the date of Jesus' death. [1] A theory has been advanced that the establishment of the feast of Sol Invictus on December 25 was an attempt by Aurelian to co-opt the day already celebrated by Christians for a pagan festival.[

If yes, why?
If no, why?

Or they come from a country that you think would be of a different religion.

For example:
A biker that is christian
Someone from India who is a devout Catholic
Someone from Korea, Japan, or China who is Christian
Someone from the Normadic countries who is very religious
A young successful attractive person who is religious
A fun loving adventurous person who is religious
Some who likes to party a lot who is religious

Do you wonder how can they be so religious? Wonder how can they combine their lifestyles with their religion?

In the trilogy, a 12 year old girl, Lyra starts out on a journey to find answers after her friend is kidnapped. She travels to a parallel universe where everyone's soul is manifested in an animation or altar-ego in animal form. These are called "daemon".

In the story, a malicious governing body called, "the church" (which is renamed, the Magisterium for the purpose of the movie) is known to kidnap kids for the purpose of experimentation. Lyra finds help in The Golden Compass which reveals a coded answer to any question which she asks it. At the end of the trilogy, Lyra gets to the bottom of the mystery of the missing children and finally, she and some others rebel and kill a character called, "God", specifically YAHWEH.

The first issue that Christians are struggling with is that the "villan" in the story is the church and God- YAHWEH. For those of you who know your Bible, YAHWEH is the abbreviated version of the name that Moses wrote down when God told him His name. This seems

Okay, so we have freedom of religion. Then why are they banning prayer out loud in school, Christmas decorations in public places, any mention of religion in some places? Why do people get offended that some of us ARE Christians and we DO celebrate Christmas? I'm not offended when I see people with Hannukah decorations, or when people with different religions talk about them. This country was partially built on Christianity.
Can someone who is actually offended by any hints that there is Christian people out there EXPLAIN why you are this way?

I'm hearing this over and over in the news. It has a subtle (watered down from the books) anti-theist subtext. However when the "Chronicles of Narnia" movie came out, with it's not-so-subtle subtext, I didn't hear any Atheists whining about Christians trying to influence their children.

Why the outcry about one movie and not the other?
