My sister-in-law is going through a hard time right now and I am looking for some christian songs that will help her focus on God. We both listen to music when we are feeling down. She is feeling like God is distant right now and is struggling to aline her dreams and desires with Gods will. My brother is serving in Iraq and she has had 3 miscarriages over the last 2-3 years and they may lose their house because of financial difficulties and they are being sued by someone they let stay with them for a time and who claims to be a christian. I am not just looking for songs to make her feel better but that are convicting as well. So far I have a lot of Barlow Girl and Kutless. Here are 3 songs that will definately be on the CD
Barlow Girl
-Surrender(convicting)
- Never Alone
Kutless
-promise of a lifetime
I would appreciate any suggestions you can give me.
Thanks and God Bless

If I go to another country or something, its perfectly acceptable for the native language to be spoken, if I go to France, I should have to speak french or bring a french phrase book. Same with Greece or any other country.

I mean shouldn't English be spoken here, as the only one true language.

I've heard a couple of people talking about the "atheist agenda." I'm an atheist and I wasn't even aware that we had one.

Could someone please explain to me exactly what the atheist agenda is, and how it effects the nation as a whole????

are you going to send them a Christmas card?
they are working to change CHRISTMAS!!!!!!
ACLU
125 Broad Street
18th Floor
New York , NY 10004
if enough people send Christmas cards they will be spending time opening the cards and maybe that would leave them less time to work on changing Christmas. they will have to open all the cards because they couldn't take a chance of throwing away money that might be in them.
as for those of you who say they will just hire more people to open the extra cards. That would be good too we could help fight to keep Christmas and help someone get a job as well (two birds with one card)

http://www.aclu.org/index.html
you can also go to their web site at the bottom of the page you can click on (your local ACLU) to get the address of your local ACLU we should send cards to the main headquarters and to our local ACLU offices as well. this is something that we can all do:-)

Considering that you eat halal, and defend the practise by claiming it is in the interests of animal welfare, why not avoid the risk and simply go vegetarian?

Please note, this isn;t an attempt to debate halal; I have already debated this until I am blue in the face. I just don;t understand why, if animal welfare is paramount, a vegetarian/vegan diet isn't a better bet than halal. neither is this a bias against Muslims ratgher than Jews, as Ihave already discussed ritual slaughter with Jews as well.
As far as I know there is no Koranic obligation to eat meat. Surely then, instead of going for halal, cutting out meat altogether would be better? Apparently animal welfare was of great importance to the Prophet, peace be upon Him, and some have suggested he abstained from meat. A vegetarian diet is also better for our planet, which would surely be in keeping with Islamic concerns for the environment?

Atheism doesn't hurt people. Atheism (in and of itself) doesn't hurt atheists (though discrimination against it does). Ignoring the whole "burn in Hell!" thing, as atheists do not believe in it, how is atheism harmful in ANY way?

Should foreigners be made to learn English and speak it when in a job setting.

No offense, but I just find it rude when sitting down and next thing you know you hear either Spanish, french, Japanese or some other language. And you don't have a clue what they are talking about. They could be talking about you and you wouldn't have a clue or when they are talking in English first then you walk in and then its their language.

Should there be a law stating English shall be spoken in all public places.

I asked why you think a god created things...to provide your train of thought. I get garbage like this:" and nothing explains how wonderfully everything is made except the existence of a Creator."

Can anyone give me a train of logical thought that gets from 'there are trees and cars and things' to 'a god made it'. Or is it all a big blank in your mind that you parrot?

Asking again with yet another verse. The verse below tells us if we overcome our name will not be blotted out of the book of life. Doesn't this seem to say that if we do not overcome our name will be blotted out? If our name is in the book of life we are saved. However this verse talks about blotting out names in it. If your name is blotted out of the book of life wouldn't you no longer be saved?

Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

I was at my friends house today when she said that she wanted me to see something. So we went into her room and she pulled out a Ouija board. We put our fingers on it and asked it what it's name was. To my horror, the triangle thing started moving!!! I asked my friend a million times if she was moving it, but she wasn't. We found out that his name was Ian who died in a car crash 8 days ago and that he wanted us to help him. We asked what he wanted. It spelled out B....L....O....O..D we were TERRIFIED and we immediately hid the board.
Now I'm at home and I'm scared. But is it really something to worry about? =S

I found this site (www.templeofsumer.org) on Sumerism, and it talks about everyone having a "personal god" that intercedes on their behalf to the greater gods. So I was wondering if anyone here was a Sumerian, and if so, how they chose their personal god.

Peace!

I am a MtF transsexual who was raised in a religious home.

I have been asking Him for an answer to this question, but I haven't received any answer that would explain why He put a womans' soul in a male body. With all the torment I've lived through, I've been told that if I continue I will go to hell when I die. As I see it, I am living in hell while trying to work through my transition trying to correct this "birth defect."

Arrogant answers will be reported!
