I had a near death experience once and all I was thinking was "Whoa, this is not good". Oh and I was also thinking "I hope my kids aren't the ones who find me".
By the way, it was my neighbor who found me. I'd just been on the phone with her right before I collapsed. I told her I had to go because I was having a hard time breathing. She got worried by what I said and decided to come straight over and check on me. If she hadn't done that I'd probably be dead right now.
I had an allergic reaction to the instant coffee I had just tried. It had been so long since I'd had coffee that I didn't realize I'd developed an allergy to it. Some people would say that being allergic to coffee is worse than death, but I'm fine with it as long as I'm not allergic to chocolate!

Well, I once "fell down a long corridor" and had to claw my way back up. Was very ill at the time but am not sure if it was my mind or my body leaving me. When I am actually dying I may or may not realize it, for I may or may not be conscious. Under anesthesia or heavy drugs one just goes to sleep. Several of my younger male friends have died of cardiac arrest lately. One, in his 40's, simply fell down on his kitchen floor--no warning, though he had had open heart surgery years before. If anything Enigma, I really hope that when I shuffle off this mortal coil there will be no thought except "give it up old girl; you're free at last"...if that. I send you blessings, and hope that this will be a good day for you.

I know what it is like to have the mind separated from the body and look at the body from the ceiling, but I do not know what it is like to die. I know, I could have been hallucinating when my pulse stopped, but I watched people frantic in the room from the ceiling where they could not see me. It seemed so very real.
I was scared spitless. LOL I had 3 other people?? up on the ceiling with me but they were more like shadows and I could not see them that well. One was at my feet and 2 at my head. I have always been afraid to say something about it because I was told I just had a scarey dream.
Nell, I am a ripe old age and love every minute of my life even though I have lost 2 husbands to cancer. They were both wonderful men.

I expect to be in awe of the situtation itself. I wonder if it is anything like people describe on TV, in which your spirit comes out of the body and goes to a light while consciously knowing exactly what is going on. I expect that it would be and that my thoughts would be - this is really happening - the Bible really is true. I would guess that my mind would be going 100 miles and hour. I might even have some sadness because I would be separated from family for a while, but I wouldn't expect any regrets.

Depends when the brain goes. I know the actual emotion fear goes away near the beginning, so I can't worry or be scared of anything. And I'm a worrier of things so whatever I'll be thinking (if I'm not dying in my sleep) will be limited if I'm thinking at all!

Answer:
Wow! I heard it was bright , but this is ridiculous!
Now, where are my pets?
Thought:
I like to believe there's more to life after death.
That we get to meet up with our loved ones that have past. Otherwise, what would be the sense in living?

how can you know from personal experience what it was like to die? I think if I was laying there dying and it was taking a long time and I knew I was toast but it was just a matter of moments till the inevitable happened I would be laying there like thinking like "wow so this is it? this is how it ended? I am hurting like hell but I don't know if I really feel anything I hope it ends soon or HELP ME!!!!"

I hope I die at an old age. So I imagine, or hope, that my last thought is, "Damn, I lived a good life." Assuming I've accomplished what i wanted to accomplish.

why do you assume i'm going to die?
if i were to do ever i would make sure my last thought would be this: "Man this life was all one big party and now i'm going to the next party I wonder what mask I will wear. I hope I'm reborn as an awesome rockstar."

You are expected to be thinking I dont want to die yet.
There are rare situations where some people might not think that way and think about thier loved ones and their safety. But mostly if they worried like that they dont want to die so that they can be there for them...
