What does this question have to do 9/11?

2007-12-01 11:42:19 · answer #1 · answered by Je Marche Drôle 3 · 8 1

But... he saved New York on 9/11! While most of us New Yorkers just saw the mayor then as a guy doing his job well for once, much of the rest of the world has given Giuliani cult status. I wouldn't fall for his schtick. He may have a grasp of metaphor but most law schools in NY have a class on that (I think it's called "Defense Tactics" usually). Guiliani has made his opinion of gay marriage quite clear - no can do. The only candidates who have taken a stand for homosexuals are Mike Gravel, wherever he went, and Dennis Kucinich. In my mind, this makes them the only two worth looking into. Deny people their civil liberties, Democrat, Republican, whatever, and I have nothing but animosity toward you. It's like voting for someone in the 1800s who didn't disavow slavery. Perhaps they didn't OWN a slave but regardless were too chickenshit to speak the truth. Nowadays it's a bit easier but being a "gay sympathizer" will still make you a pariah. If you cannot speak a common truth, keep your mouth shut and your politics out of my government. It is those that stay silent who enable candidates with such prejudices to get elected. Staying silent is often more harmful than anything. Anyone who cannot stand up for their beliefs has neither the confidence nor wherewithal to be running a country.

Ah, sorry about my gay rant, I saw one of the previous answers and went off. Dude! Yer back! (((Dude)))

LOL@ 'Zilla's answer! Great minds think alike. ;-)

'nother edit: OMG, are the conservatives babbling about personal affairs again like they did with Clinton? When will these idiots realize that what goes on in the bedroom has nothing to do with what goes on in the government? Almost EVERY SINGLE PRESIDENT has cheated on his wife. I'm sorry, I don't agree with it, but so what? Who he goes to bed with each night is not my business, unless he's a pedophile. These are the same schmuckos who say gays are indiscreet and a gay President would force everyone to have anal sex. These people think out of their dungholes.

Politics makes me mad.

No. Giuliani is taking flack for the following:

- Being married 3 times.

- Being an adulterer

- Being just as liberal as Hillary Clinton on major social issues (pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, pro-gun control)

- Not giving a damn about having a relationship with his kids

- Politicizing the 9/11 attacks for political gain

- Treating the lost 9/11 victims' bodies like garbage during the cleanup

- Recommending corrupt public officials for political appointments

- Having little foreign policy and political experience.

Basically, Rusy is a watered down Democrat. A RINO (Republican in name only).

According to Biblical teachings and if you believe in the Greek translation of the Bible (from which today's Bibles are translated from), Jonah was not in a whale, he was in a sea monster.

He should be for not realizing the America needs to be warned of it's worthiness of destruction as Nineveh was: http://peacebyjesus.witnesstoday.org/RevealingStatistics.html

(Acts 3:19) "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;"

ummm... no... he is paying for B. Kerik and his indescretions,
his brazen disregard for NYC in charging them tens of thousands of $$ for his security while having an affair, for his profiteering from a security firm he established in the wake of 9/11, for being cynical and politically expedient and for pandering to whichever group he believes will serve his interests best. I do not see how Jonah and whale fit into the picture... sorry...

Giuliani is playing both sides against the middle. He's trying to appeal to the gay crowd by appearing to be gay friendly (something his religious fanbase hates)....he's trying to appeal to the atheist crowd by denouncing certain biblical scripture....and still trying to appeal to the christian crowd by wearing the "republican" label.

He's trying to kiss as many asses as he can in hopes of getting their votes...

if a christian can't believe that a whale swallowed jonah, how can he believe that a man was raised from the dead on the third day?

He jumped the whale and kissed the girl ~ not his wife. Zany hijinks ensue.
