No one at all is athiest. However, many are athEIst.

And as to how the world was created, you should go to the astronomy & cosmology section to ask. Presuming God is neither sensible nor necessary.

You hit the nail on the head when you said "enlighten me."

If Christians taught the Original Gospel about the light of God, they wouldn't be experiencing this kind of negative reaction.

Blood for sin is not the Original message. The Original message was "light is come into the world," not sacrifice for sin. That second idea comes from the Pauline gospel, not the Kingdom Gospel.

This resource will explain my comment.

because of the balance.. the scale is too far to the other side at this moment in time ( hate distortion confusion = extremist the news is full of it) that's why there are more and more atheist to re- store that balance.. human beings will always look for a balance it is our drive its instinct , the right thing to do believers or non believers its human. As none extremist we have to fight hard to get back in balance, it will become more and more difficult to do so , if we dont do anything about it now it will be become more and more harder to do so,.. but theres a lot people, they still not see or don't want to see , but now when it is still a verbal war ( in our own country's UK USA) we can , if we wait longer the stakes are far more higher , a mess it will be I don't Evan want to think about that so YES action is now your believe to the test is now / now or never I would say... bless you

I don't think there are any more atheists than there have ever been. I think with the recent advent of notable speakers Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, etc. They have been more open in sharing their views. They would say the world wasn't created--kind of where they are coming from.

People in previous generations might have called themselves deists, pantheists, even agnostics when really they meant to say atheist--but they didn't want the social pressure.

The pendulum has swung a bit.

I used to say that just to annoy excessively zealous and lacking humility born again Christians because I didn't know the words to describe what I am. I am a agnostic theist with early Christian beliefs. The agnostic part is because i see absolutely no way to prove either way this side of the grave. We'll all know for sure soon enough.

Yes, as you said, you don't know. So gods are a cheap little answer to everything. This phenomena is called "God of the Gaps", meaning wherever there is a gap or a missing link in scientific knowledge, god is there to conveniently fill it, if only temporarily. The gaps are narrowing, and the shadows of ignorance in which the god notion takes refuge in are slowly slowly fading in the light of knowledge and understanding.

To answer your first question....people aren't "becoming atheists". People are starting to realize that the churches interpretation of how the universe was created, and how people came to be...really doesn't make much sense. And a number of sects within any particular religious belief system, have a hard time keeping their stories straight...

As far as how the world was created....as an atheist...I really don't know. But I have a hard time believing that an all powerful, all knowing, supreme deity got bored one afternoon 4.6 billion years ago and decided, on a whim, to create playthings to keep himself amused.

I'm afraid the real answer is much more complicated than just saying "God did it"

You could start by researching theories of planetary formation and star formation.

A comprehensive explanation covering everything from the big bang to you and i sitting in front of our computers would be lengthy to say the least.

God of the gaps, how original. -_-
Who created God then? Hm? Why link the natural world as being caused by a SUPERnatural thing? Much less a thing with a brain and is a being?

Atheism is progressing because of education.

"They think the world just happened; and that intelligent life was accidentally created by totally random chance" - PAULO

Evolution is a NON-random process overall.

I feel like I'm an athiest, but to be honest, I don't think a lot of people are like I am. To answer your question, just as you might wonder how someone could question the actions of a god, I would ask how someone can question the actions of particles in space.

God has allowed, for a short time, for His own purposes, to bring Himself glory, as He brings those few more chosen out from this lost and dieing world.
