Would you rather have a neighbor who couldn't care less what you think, or a neighbor who was compelled to kill you because you didn't think the way he did?

An Atheist believes in only one less god than either the Christian or Muslim, both of which are equally sure the other will go to hell. So, if all three groups; Christians, Atheists and Muslims made up the entire world population, 2/3 would be going to hell according to either religion. Atheists believe all religions are equally wrong. Muslims believe Christians are as wrong as Atheists. But funny, isn't it, that Christians are often heard saying about Muslims (or any other religion), "at least they believe in something." Since, therefore, an Atheist would be no more wrong than a Muslim in the Christian God's eyes, I can only assume those Christians are so overwhelmingly insecure about their belief that they need some sort of validation to feel good about their own beliefs.

I am a christian. And my answer to you is, Righteous Christians like you who think they have the right to judge other religions and their followers are the worst..... Radical Islam is no different, better, or worse, than radical christianity, and as far as atheism goes, some of the most brilliant scientists in the history of mankind have been atheists, as well as some of the most influential human rights activists, these people include medical researchers who have spent their lives in the pursuit of cures for things like cancer....... when was the last time you did something good for the human race, just because you believe in jesus, doesn't mean you will be saved on judgement day.... it takes a lot more than that, jesus left us specific instructions on how to live your life and that question itself goes against most of them.....

Worse in what way? The "I'm afraid to be around them because they'd chop my neck off" - goes to Radical Islam today - though in 1930's Soviet Union it would be Radical Atheism.

I'm not really sure there is Radical Atheism at this point.

I think the problem is relating anything bad to a group because of fringe elements. I believe there is something else at play in the minds of people that think little of violence and killing are OK in defense of their religo-political view. That fact that a person is Islamic, Christian, Jewish, or Atheist is not inherently a contributing factor to such perversion of universal decency.

The worst aspect of ANY religion (or lack thereof) are the agendas of the *extremists* which almost invariably infest and poison it.

As for the way people choose to believe -- as long as they are NOT extremists (i.e., obnoxious people who seek to interfere with any personal liberties of other people) -- ALL beliefs are worthy of respect, and should be treated that way. Including *normal* (not radical) Islam, and atheism.

--"Roadrat" -- Normal, sensible, fairly-intelligent UNobtrusive and NON-busybodyish Christian.

To "cry2345678" -- Have you considered getting a life? And... is your Shift Key broken?

Well, if I have to pick between the two...I would have to say Radical Islam...I don't hear much about Atheism going around killing innocent people. Now, that I think about it...We don't hear very much about the religious background of people who do violent acts. We don't know what their religion or non religion is unless they themselves mention it prior or after their act. My true answer though is any Radical religious group is worst then an Atheist. I work with people that are Atheist and some of them are great people!!

Oh, nice question, but you made a mistake. you forgot to mention Christians as a possibility of the worst religion. I'm not saying all Christians are bad, but if you look at history then you'll see that Christians are a very violent and intolerant people. I mean, i thought part of Christians' teachings was to be tolerant. And to say that any religion is worse than another isn't very tolerant, now is it?
But hey, religions are stupid anyways, and they are full of ignorant people, so what are you going to do?

there is not any "conflict". in the journey that your way of existence and ideology are genuine and effectual, the demonstration of the type you reside will convince some human beings to accept as true with you. in case you reside in a manner that doesn't convince anybody, than re-learn the type you reside. possibly you at the instant are not embodying the values you think so important. or possibly your values are lost. Judaism has survived very desperate efforts for hundreds of years by using Christians (conservative and otherwise) and others to snuff it out.

Militant atheism is actually much like militant Islam in it's latest dogmatism, though it's means are not yet violent. MI promotes itself as tolerant, while exhorting people, expel the “witch doctors out of our lives before they explode the bomb" (Harris), as if evangelical Christians are noted for so doing.

Militant Islam is militant atheism's polemical best friend as they universally broad brush all religions as bloody, and define Christianity by Roman Catholicism, which stands in stark contrast to the church in the Bible, as well as the deleterious effects of atheism.

And while militant Islam is empowered to war by the sword by it's codified "moral" authority (the Quran) - in stark contrast to the New Testament - militant atheism allows them to do whatever is pragmatically "responsible" to their "superior" mind. Just like Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, etc. were enabled to do .

Well, the first commandments deal with believing in God first and foremost, murder comes in at 6th (or 5th). However Christ taught to "do under others." As far as the commandments go, the Islam people are better off because their god is essentially the same god. However, in terms of the teachings of Christ, I rarely heard of Atheism generating violence.

Atheism is a joke, like Communism. It was serious once upon a time, Stalin and Mao killed a whole lot of people, maybe more than Hitler. Those were the three worst nasties of the twentieth century. Bush and the Radical Islamists may yet succeed where the Commies failed, by blowing up the world. Muslims guys don't care if they die, they got all those 'virgins' waiting for them. Though I myself think the only virgins in store for them are virgin maggots. So let's kill them all first!

Woe! Just kidding!
