Remember...the Church preached that God had put the Earth in the center of the universe. When it was proved wrong, the Church had Copernicus held under house arrest to prevent his discoveries from ruining the Gospel that was being taught. Religion has always repressed knowledge that conflicted with dogma!

Is it just ignorance? Saturday is the seventh day God called his sabbath. Sunday is Rome's sabbath. Even if you believe that we are required to rest and obey God's sabbath, shouldn't saturday be the sabbath that you rest on since it is God's sabbath?

Considering the brutality of christian rome, christian great britain, and many others. And, considering the direction our own government is heading, along with the understanding that the anti-christ kingdom will be a religous civil power, shouldn't Christians support the separation of church and state?

Most keep Rome's sabbath and deny God's sabbath. Most agree with war even though it kills lots of people and is usually not even self defense and they support the death penalty in this country even though many people in our prisons are convicted of crimes that they didn't commit. Most have plenty of graven images both of things on the earth and things imagined to be of heaven. Too many don't love their neighbor as themselves. The prosperity gospel actually teaches covetousness. According to Jesus teachings on divorce, many commit adultery. Most support the government even though the government acknowledges that it bares false witness. George Bush planned on lying so much that he created the Department of Misinformation and most still supported him and his claim to be a Christian.

All things considered, shouldn't Christians be arguing to remove the 10 commandments from public places since they expose the hypocrisy of many of america's Christians?

During the reign of Pontius Pilot, Rome kept tight records of everyone who was crucified. There was never any records of a man named Jesus being crucified. Also, Joseph and Mary took Jesus to be regisered as a baby. There is no record of that. Where is the physical proof besides second hand commentary? Pleased, no pre-packaged answers like the Bible is our proof or faith is our evidence.

I do not mean this to be a religious discussion, per se. This question can be asked to anyone of any religious background. But here is the thing: I have been divorced and alone for many years. And these years as a single parent have not been easy. I keep hoping and praying that a decent man will come into my life and love me and my son and treat us well. I am not willing to settle for just some jerk-would rather be alone. But how do I keep believing and praying after so many years? How do I know I am not being a stupid fool and should smarten up and give up?

Will you celebrate one of the upcoming holidays because your family or friends do? Will you celebrate the Winter Solstice or Yule so that you have reason to participate in the traditions of gift-giving, gathering with those you love, and doing some 'soul searching' during this time of year? Will you advertise that you celebrate nothing specific this time of year? How will you handle the differences between you, and the 'typical' religious observer this time of year?
