I'm currently in that process now. I kinda lost my faith. But I believe, I still believe, that God exist. It's just that I feel like I don't really know him. Come on, how do we know what we know about God? Our parents, the church taught us about God. It's like getting a second hand information. I want to know him, really know him from my heart and not through the culture or other people's perception of him, so that I'd be able to believe in him in a way that my faith will never be again perish. I've been getting the pictures of him but not the FEELING of him and that's why I keep losing my faith no matter how hard I try. They say I'll find God through prayers, through meditation etc. and losing faith in him is not an option if I want his side. But I think, I just think, that the first step of really getting there with God is to start from zero, from scratch, and hoping that with my now failthless life he'll meet me halfway, that he will help me find a way to him and I swear when I really got to know him, I won't leave his side ever.

You lose faith when you accept reality, I feel better when I lose faith and start using logic, there is no reason to overcome it.

As I understand your questionI would like to relate it to the teachings of Srimad BhagvatGita.
Arjuna asks Sri Krishna as to why Jiva{souls in general persons in paticular}, being part of the lord itself indulges in sin? Sri Krishna replies : owing to his own desires and anger.
Whenever you loose faith check out for these two i.e. the desire and the anger.
Is your faith diminishing owing to some desire? or due to some anger?
Take a deep thought and believe me, sayings in Gita are time tested truths.
Try apply this knowledge to your problem

When we are not surrounded by other believers, we tend to fall away. We really need their encouragement and the best place to find it is at church.
The Bible tells us that we need to attend church so we can worship God with other believers and be taught His Word for our spiritual growth (Acts 2:42; Hebrews 10:25). Church is the place where believers can love one another (1 John 4:12), encourage one another (Hebrews 3:13), “spur” one another (Hebrews 10:24), serve one another (Galatians 5:13), instruct one another (Romans 15:14), honor one another (Romans 12:10), and be kind and compassionate to one another (Ephesians 4:32).

When we feel all is lost. We feel we have lost faith. We make that choice, I believe. We can choose to buckle down and fast, pray, study God's Word. We need to ride the waves of life, not drown. We get this feeling when bills/stress get high and money gets short, for example. It can be caused by all sorts of things. It can cause you to feel depressed, sad, inadequate. All I can stress is hold your head high!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep praying, fast, go to church, study the Word, and ride it out. It will pass. Don't the devil get you down!!!!!!!!!!That's what he's waiting for. Get thee behind me satan!! That's what he needs to hear, from you.

Faith defy the logic and our mind is dependent on logic so it must raise its head so there is no need to suppress it. Listen to it you will become wiser than the people of faith.

When you feel like you have lost faith you have not. Faith is a decision not a feeling. It's a decision. For instance.......tough love is an act of Faith whether you include God in your decision of faith or not. :)

I don't know if it's 'losing' faith.
Could it be 'finding' reason?
