Fundies are great for asking for proof that something doesn't exist. Maybe they can prove that Jesus didn't come back as Koresh.

Interesting...

I know Christ has not yet returned for several reasons, a few of which have been mentioned already by other respondents:

--Christ will return in the clouds. Since no one has mentioned seeing this occur, he has not returned.

--Many false reports of Christ's presence (sightings) will indicate his arrival is imminent, but again, no cigar.

Also, When Christ returns, God said in his word that the dead in Christ shall rise. Hasn't happened yet, so he has not come back.

However, the primary reason I know Christ didn't return as David Koresh is that the point of the message Christ taught was resurrection and eternal life, not reincarnation**.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (King James Version) 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

As for God changing his mind "all the time", this is not true. It is because God does not change, that a person may confidently (for those who are so inclined) place their trust firmly in him. He has always been the same, and will always be the same: yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Hope I helped. God bless you.

Thanks, David G., I had forgotten about that.

**I misspoke when I made the statement... "the primary reason I know Christ didn't return as David Koresh is that Christians don't believe in reincarnation, but in eternal life". While this is true, Christian belief is grounded in the message that Christ taught. Christ's message should have been the point, not Christian beliefs, which can vary.

Because before Jesus left, he said:

"So if anyone tells you, 'There he is, out in the desert,' do not go out; or, 'Here he is, in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.

"Immediately after the distress of those days 'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'

"At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other." (Matthew 24)

Besides, David Koresh didn't claim to be Jesus. He claimed to be the Persian king, Cyrus. "Cyrus" and "Koresh" are the same word, and in Isaiah 45:1, Cyrus is called a "messiah." "Messiah" means "anointed one," and it's the equivalent of a king, though it's sometimes used to refer to prophets and priests, as well.

have you read the Bible?
maybe you should?
David Koresh and Jesus Christ were totally different.
One was full of lust and the other full of Love, Light, Truth.
In James 1: 17, the Bible says with God there "is no variableness, neither shadow of turning". God doesn't change. He is the same. Why do you say God changes His mind all the time? God does adjust how He deals with us based on our hearts, our repentance or our stubbornness.

Notice how David Koresh's name faded away. Are we still affected deeply by him? Many people don't even know who he is. Now Jesus, who lived thousands of years ago still provokes all of these different emotions. His story divides people and will for generations to come. If He truly is the Son of God, wouldn't you expect this opposition? Which one was the true Messiah?

The Bible says Jesus will come back the way he left, through the clouds. He will not be born all over as a man.

Because that would contradict the Bible. The one thing God can't do is lie.
