If you have faith in your deities, will they cure you of any ailment without the intervention of humans, or do they have to work through humans and their capacity to heal is limited by the medical staff available?

American Public Schools have been slacking.

Who's to blame for this?
I blame the teaching of Evolution in schools for Americans becoming dumber.

The date: about 1957. The place, NYC, at a party full of sophisticated atheists and artsy NY bohemians.

The antagonist: Flannery O'Connor. A wisp of a young woman, Roman Catholic from the US deep south (Georgia), who would go on to write some of the most interesting and stirring fiction of the 20th century.

The scene: Knowing she was a fiercely Catholic believer, the other members of the party started discussing the Eucharist. They all agreed that it was a pretty good symbol of sacrafice and love.

Sweet-looking, demure little Flannery answers them with 10 words: If it's a symbol, then to hell with it.

What do you think she meant?

I send cards that say Happy Holidays to the people I know who celebrate multiple holidays in December...which is all the people with a holiday in December who I know.
Since I have friends and relatives who are Jewish, Pagan and other, I usually buy cards that say something like "May your holiday season be full of warmth and comfort" rather than "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" and "Happy Yule and Happy New Year" or "Joyous Saturnalia, Happy Yule, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year"
Rather than get a card each for each of the religious people in my family, I buy one package, and the profits benefit cancer research...
Here's this years:

If you were on my list, would you be OFFENDED that I did not buy you a card with Christmas in it and would you expect one for Christmas and ANOTHER for New Year's or am I supposed to hope you have a crummy New Year?

Genesis 8:21 ~ "And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth ; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done."

Is that an admission of a mistake?
Did God reconsider his own initial judgement and change his mind?

More to the point.... given the various tsunamis, volcanoes, earthquakes, hurricanes and the like since..... causing the death of countless millions of people..... was God lying when he said he wouldn't do it again? Did he realise that his decision NOT to do it again was a mistake? Did he forget?

Please:

1. Explain the "theory"
2. Provide its null hypothesis
3. Provide an example of an experiment to test the hypothesis
4. Explain how it is a scientific theory that competes with evolution and therefor should be taught in a biology class
5. Defend through fact and empiricism the notion of irreducible complexity

I suspect that very few bible thumpers even understand how to approach these questions. I think most religobots just know that intelligent design=creationism=christianity and that is good enough for them. Some religious autocrat jsut told them its science and like everything else, they believe it.

Job 26:17 says the Earth is suspended on nothing. How could a man living in that era know this? many cultures in that time had different beleives about how the earth stood in the universe. But, only the inspired word of God tells us the truth because after all, he is the creator.

and what about this Job 28:25 states that air has weight. recent science has confirmed this but it was centuries after God had revealed this.

They are christians who adhere strictly to the bible, word for word. Other people use what they want from the bible and pretend the other stuff isn't there. I almost respect those psycho, brainwashed people.
I bet most christians don't agree with the Westboro Baptist church and the disgusting things they do. Isn't that the same as not agreeing with the old testament? If you follow the new testament, when did god come back, and why didn't anyone see him?

Jesus came with the resources to set apart what is right from what is wrong. To teach us the law, are made up law's that are by man in the town's and in city's {No} His law's! But He even had a greater plan beyond that, He came to save us from ourselves. To die for us. Jesus did what we couldn't do. He conquered death. We owe all we have to Him. That is why your suppose to give in the offering part of your pay check what is due to God. Look what God did for us. Amen! We should be Honored to do so, but lots of times were just to greeedy, me included. Their is not 1 person who has not been greedy with their money. We all have done what we shouldn't but what it should do is inspire us to want to improve. Let me ask you who has dione any fishing this week? I'm talking the kind qwhere you go in the World and pull people to Christ.

Many people claim that God created life on Earth. All you would have to do to disprove this is show that life arose from inanimate matter in a sterile environment with no outside interference or manipulation. Why is that so hard to do? Perhaps because it has already been proven that it is impossible, and yet life exists strongly indicating that it must be a miracle?
