I send cards that say Happy Holidays to the people I know who celebrate multiple holidays in December...which is all the people with a holiday in December who I know.
Since I have friends and relatives who are Jewish, Pagan and other, I usually buy cards that say something like "May your holiday season be full of warmth and comfort" rather than "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" and "Happy Yule and Happy New Year" or "Joyous Saturnalia, Happy Yule, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year"
Rather than get a card each for each of the religious people in my family, I buy one package, and the profits benefit cancer research...
Here's this years:

If you were on my list, would you be OFFENDED that I did not buy you a card with Christmas in it and would you expect one for Christmas and ANOTHER for New Year's or am I supposed to hope you have a crummy New Year?

By the way, I usually scrawl something on it that's appropriate, like I look forward to seeing you graduate in May or good luck in your new job or I love you.

I'm an atheist, and I really don't care what greeting you wish me, you could wish me Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Good Festivus, Joyous Solstice, or whatever. In any case, I know you mean well, and that's what should matter. I don't know why some people get so upset over the phrase "Happy Holidays." I mean, seriously.

I usually buy 2..... one secular and one religious. For my friends who are not Christians, I send them the secular one. Ones that I know are Christians, get the religious ones. I would never presume to send a card with a nativity to my pagan friend nor to my Jewish friend. And I wouldn't expect to get a Christian Christmas card from them, either.
This year I cheated... I found one that can be taken either way!
As for being offended? Never, I would just be glad to be considered on your list of friends!

No, not at all, and I feel lucky just to get 1 card a year, and anything that helps support a cause such as that or any other.
I would continue what you're doing, because I think you have the right idea, and it is nice that you even send out cards. Some people are too cheap, or just can't afford it.

I pick mine for the pretty pictures. Or sometimes I send out ones with a cute penguin saying have a "Cool Yule" or something. It comes off as non-denominational, but it gets my inner Pagan out into the open a bit. :-) It's the sentiment tha counts to me. A wish of good tidings is nice regardless of the faith it espouses.

The 'war on Christmas' was created by Bill Oreilly to drum up ratings by scaring the bejesus out of Christians.

I am not sure why Christians insist that non Christians should accept Merry Christmas as a greeting. Its silly.

Gee, I wish I had that kind of money. If those to whom I send Christmas cards are my friends, then they will appreciate the thought behind the card and respect my religion as much as I would theirs.

Normally, if you are a business, you steer clear of offending others..99% of businesses sent Season's Greetings cards.
However, when it comes to personal cards, they should come from your heart and your home to theirs.send what you believe would be a blessing and good wish to them. They should not be offended by that.

Wow.

I'm underprepared. I'm not even sure I'm sending cards this year. How can I be offended, if I'm not actually a good enough person to send anything myself? :-P

(I love getting mail. Who cares what flavor the card is?)

No, I wouldn't care either way.

I would be bothered however if you did give me a card with Christmas on it.

Yule and Hanukkah are acceptable.
