Job 26:17 says the Earth is suspended on nothing. How could a man living in that era know this? many cultures in that time had different beleives about how the earth stood in the universe. But, only the inspired word of God tells us the truth because after all, he is the creator.

and what about this Job 28:25 states that air has weight. recent science has confirmed this but it was centuries after God had revealed this.

Isaiah 40:22 tells us the earth is not flat but, a round sphere. It states God "sits above the circle on the face of the earth." the hebrew root word is "chuwg" which descirbes a circle.

In addition to what you've stated, British philosopher and sociologist, Herbert Spencer (who coined the expression “survival of the fittest.”) observed that all reality in the universe could be contained in five categories: time, force, action, space and matter. Spencer said everything that exists, exists in one of those categories. This astute discovery was Spencer’s most notable contribution to the world of his day.

In the first verse of the Bible, God said plainly what man didn’t catalogue until the nineteenth century: “In the beginning (time) God (force) created (action) the heavens (space) and the earth (matter).”

Also, as recently as 1775, anthropology taught that there were five incompatible races of men with different kinds of blood. It was not until 1900 that Nobel prize-winning pathologist, Karl Landsteiner discovered plasma and helped science understand the Common Blood Theory, thus blood donations and transfusions have enhanced and extended human lives.

Through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the author of Acts (Luke, a physician) made this declaration 1800 years before Landsteiner (“And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth.” Acts 17:26).

Obviously the Bible is not a comprehensive science textbook, but it does not stand in opposition to good science either.

There are tons more than what you mentioned! If you look at the Old Testament laws, you find many of the basic hygenic rules that many of our hospitals did not begin using until the 1800's. They also knew the method of conception, that the earth was round, and that species only created the same species.

Christy: The scripture you quoted states that it is a circle. Even that was before it's time. There is a big difference between a flat line ___ and a circle O, the earth is much closer to the O!

Any scientific "facts" that are mentioned in the Bible are completely incidental and have nothing to do with the purpose for which the biblical texts were written. The same is true of the scientific inaccuracies mentioned in the Bible. They are completely irrelevant to the intended message of the text. God made sure the intended message was written accurately. However, He did not directly dictate the text. Therefore, there are many elements of the various human writers that found their way into the text, including their beliefs and ideas about the natural world.

wait a second, i will check your references, so hold on a minute...

Job 26:17
He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, [and] hangeth the earth upon nothing. (interesting, i wouldn't consider the earth hanging so much as i'd call it constantly falling...)

JOB 28:25
To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure. (wind doesn't have weight, wind is a force, LIKE weight, but wind does not have a weight)

so you think this proves that there is an omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent, omnipresent being?

not that people could feel the force of wind, and feel the force of weight, and make a comparison?

You can cherry pick a vague work to make a feeble case, but it's just dishonest. Isaiah also states that the "round" Earth has corners.
