Were Kangaroos ever used as beast of burden. Did Jesus have a pet Kangaroo? Did Noah have Kangaroos on the Ark? If so how did they get to Australia. And what about those other strange animals like the platypus? Did Australia just make that up?

I cannot figure out Christianity or how to deal with it. I am not a Christian but I used to be. I understand it from the inside out because I used to be one. What I do understand is the doctrine and the stuff you're supposed to believe.
What I don't understand is how to deal with Christians. It makes me not want to get out of the bed in the morning knowing that Christianity exists and there are Christians. I don't like being demonized for being a non-Christian. I don't like dealing with Christians and their holier than thou attitude. I can't stand their hypocrisy and double standards. They are horrible. I can't believe how much of a difference a label can make in society. I'm not even a bad person. I just don't want to live anymore because of Christianity. I don't know who to talk to about this. I am sure as hell not talking to a priest. I wish I knew a social psychologist who could answer all my questions. I am not interested in hearing bible verses, I just need answers.

We all push our agendas esp in a democracy. (yes I know we are a representative republic)

There are plenty of atheist special interest groups pushing their agendas on politicians and esp on the courts and that is perfectly acceptable, but if a christian group dares do it then its violating the Constitution and those Christians are pushy, intolerant and closeminded.

What is the difference? Both sides are trying to sway the general population and the politicians to make the country more like how they want it to be. Why is it ok for an atheist to do this, but not ok for a christian to do this? What is the difference?

This question got me thinking of this
Now I may not understand why churches are pushing this issue, but how are they any more intolerant than the atheists in here that proclaim we should abolish all religion and kick any religious symbols out of US?

In a town in Illinois, there is a witch school that has opened up. Now this pagan school is from what I understand mostly an online thing, but many of the residents in the area seem to object to their mere being in the town. Half of the churches are actively outspoken against their being there, and one pastor is even quoted saying that they are in the midst of "spiritual warfare."

Is anyone else sickened by the level of intolerance that is in this country? Christians, how do you feel about your brother's ignorance and bigotry against any and all who don't believe exactly as they do?

Open minded people of all religions (or lack of) answers are welcome. If you think that witchcraft is equivalent to satanism please better use your time to look up wicca instead of answering this question as you will not earn 10 points for this.

I received a violation notice today, only the third I have ever had since my time here began, but I am at a loss as to know what guidelines I broke. Could someone please help me out.
Here are the details:

Question: For All Religions and Beliefs Even Atheists Agnostics Wicca ETC?

Question Details: Does it really matter if you believe the world came from nothing caused by nothing or God caused it. Does it matter if you do chants, spells, rituals and all these meditations and all these horoscopes. Does it matter what denomination you call yourself or what classes in theology or science you took. Or does it matter what you do in life? Do you help the needy? The poor? The sick? The disabled? Do you help africans? Do you help those people who can't even grow their food anymore? Do you help those people who are homeless? Do you help those people who are suffering? I MEAN COME ON! Can't you stop wasting your time with these piece of crap arguements about who is right and who is wrong? Can't you stop wasting Good money on these piece of crap rituals and chanting and materials needed? And can you stop wasting money on building bigger "church" buildings. Can you stop arguing with people who believe in something just because you feel guilty about not helping anyone but yourself??

Deleted Answer: do you feel better now? (((((there, there)))))

I am an Atheist and I do for one. As for you Wiccan and witches who keep arguing that it is a pagan holiday as if they own it. Why not come on and enjoy Christmas with the rest of us.

Thats right. If you go to hell its because you were created for the fate of never ending tortment in the flames of hell. Everyones lives are predetermined. Free will is jsut an illusion. Oh and you christians out there, don't say oooh but you DO have free will. FALSE. Thats false! Faith comes from god dummie so therefore free will is an illusion. Hahaha. Master of deception, hey? Also notice that he will send a strong delusion in tribulation causing everyone to beleive a lie then he blames it on satan... I know you may be offended by this but I sort of believe that God is two faced........ evil side, and a good side... come on it makes sense doesn't it? And screw everyone who believes otherwise....

I NEED THE TRUTH!!

I took on a challenge from Christians as they thought atheists were too closed minded to believe, and it is our choice to believe.. Despite telling them it is not a choice they did not believe me.. So I'm trying to convert myself to Christianity to see if it is true and I am wrong.

Here is what I have tried thus far.

1. Daily reading of the Bible.
2. Praying and repenting to God for long periods of time.
3. Going to Church.
4. Putting as much trust and hope as I can muster into the Bible.
5. Trying to be open minded.

I've been at this for almost two months this time and I still don't have faith. Honestly, I've tried and still don't believe in God. I've done this in the past as well and it did not work. I put God ahead of myself and still nothing.

I've asked and received no answer. I'm seeking, but finding nothing. Knocking at Christ's door and no one opens.

So, what am I doing wrong? Honestly, I would love to experience the same thing you do..

If there was a worldwide flood from so many days of rain, why did fish species who cannot easily tolerate a sudden drop in salinity of ocean water NOT go extinct, and why did so many sea reptiles (which are MORE tolerant of changes in salinty) GO extinct? If God protected some and killed off others during the floods, why not just smite them down (and the sinful humans) without bothering with a flood?

He god-struck down (with uncondtional love) Ananias and Sapphira, in the book of Acts of the Apostles, simply for not paying their tithes. Why not do this to the "wicked" humans and spare the good humans and the innocent animals?

I saw the question earlier asking why people celebrate Christmas as a secular holiday, and then another question about why people say that Christmas started as a Pagan holiday (and their argument is that Pagans didn't call it Christmas).

Is it possible for Christians to step out of their shoes and try to get a different perspective on this one? Many of us DON'T BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST. Yet, this nation is still a predominantly Christian country, something that we have to live with and deal with on a daily basis. I don't care what people believe, but when they try to make people feel like they're wrong or bad for not being Christian, those are the people I can't stand. Yes, most non-Christians celebrate Christmas. You know why? Because of culture. We don't give a care about Jesus and what people claim he did for mankind, that is FINE, but many people DON'T BELEIVE THAT. When Christmas comes around, we still have those fond memories of childhood where Christmas was all about..

Btw, I'm an atheist but I'm really interested in the theory behind religion that rarely gets properly and clearly answered.

Why isn't everyone accepting that people have their own religions, that one religion isn't right for everyone? One lady I met at DQ today with her youth group was talking about how they were learning other religions so they could learn how to teach the gospels to them. She was a very sweet lady, but her message that "Everyone should know Jesus" struck me wrong. Any die-hard Christian that thinks this statement is right should think about two of Jesus' main teachings: love and acceptance of our neighbors.

why does anyone have to die for our sins when God, the All-Merciful, could as easily give us forgiveness if we ask for it? Isn't God the one who makes the rules? Why does He have to make someone suffer for our sins or for someone else's sins? Isn't that unjust of Him? According to the Bible the way to redemption could be obtained without the need for sacrifice. The Bible says:
Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

The problem with those people who say that, they are just parrots who are idiots. They repeat whatever they hear or think.
I know some will copy paste some verses from Quran stating "Get rid of nonbelivers" but this is exactly what i am saying ... they are idiots and illiterate!
WHY??
i never speak about other religions because simply, i did not read enough or research enough. To condemn a book or critisize it you need to read it from A to Z, otherwise zip it (your mouth) and thats what i do!
So if you guys know some versus from the Quran that say "Get rid of nonbelievers or be violant or use force..."
You haven't read the full paragraph, coz the truth is that GOD said to Prophet Mohamed on a certain incident (to be exact some War with non belivers who DECLARED WAR on Muslims) So it was normal that GOD will order muslims to get rid of non believers and kill them. ITS WAR!
Islam never started War.. nor encouraged violance. Its the religion of peace and love Treat others well alwys
