Going to church can be confusing and frustrating when so called Christians lead you to believe that it is their way or no way then you meet up with other Christians and they tell you it is their way or no way. Just go with God. Forget all of these silly people who profess to know the truth and let God enter your heart for Gods sake and yours only. You will know the truth and no one can make the truth different then what you are privy to.
I hope I've helped.
Why do you thumbs down people have so little faith in his ability to know God and/or to know what is right for him? I have faith in his abilities. You should too.

Hut, just look at the responses you got here from some supposed "Christians". Do you really want to give people like that any power over you. Turn them off, don't worry about what they think about you. Refuse to discuss religion. Find people who are willing to base relationships on shared interests other than religion to hang out with. Develop hobbies that will put the focus on who you are and enjoying stuff together rather than on what your personal beliefs are. If you want to talk or network with others who also are not believers join a freethought, atheist, or humanist organization. There are several online sites. If where you are living is really a backwater Christian hellhole (pun intended) think about moving. I don't know how old you are but consider taking classes at a college or university. You are bound to meet people with diverse backgrounds, ideas, and tolerance for diversity there. You will always have to be willing though to respect others will have different beliefs and so long as they are persecuting or forcing you to share that is their right. They don't have the right to persecute or demonize you though. You should ask about depression in the psychology section or better if you really are depressed find a real life person to help either through an online directory or your phonebook. Killing yourself is not the answer, nothing can get better than and hard as it is to believe you can find a way to make a better situation for yourself. Best wishes to you.

Don't let them get to you. Why should you allow yourself to suffer because of them? Don't take what they say personally. Realize that there are many Christians in the world who still have a lot of spiritual growing to do. Focus on your own spirituality....whatever religion (if any) you find that helps you grow spiritually and that you feel will help you strive towards your spiritual goals (whatever they are, if any).
I am a non-Indian practicing Hindu. I not only have to hear how bad I am for not being a Christian, but then I get lectures about all kinds of things that they believe it is that Hindus do that is "wrong" (when it fact they've either been told misinformation about Hinduism or have misunderstood Hinduism....either way their complete ignorance of Hinduism becomes apparent during such lectures). I am blessed to have some Christian friends who give me hope for Christianity in that they are spiritually growing and I've met Christians who aren't Christians because it's the popular thing to do or the convenient thing to be.....but actually did a spiritual search on their own and came to the Christian denomination they are on their own. They found, just as I did in Hinduism, the religion and denomination within that religion that best expressed their spiritual understandings, explained spiritual experiences they had, and set up steps towards the spiritual goals they had hoped to achieve.
There's nothing wrong with being a non-Christian. And while it may seem like society puts a lot of emphasis on this. I'm a Hindu....and I'm gay....you'd think I'd have all kinds of trouble in society. Sure every now and then I do have to deal with people who are definately just trying to pick a fight with me, but more often I find that people just try to be respectful and some people are even curious to learn more about you as a person and more about the "labels" you identify yourself with. I've never been denied a job because I'm not a Christian or gay. I've never been denied the right to purchase things in a store. And in fact even as a gay Hindu, wearing a necklace of Ganesh, I have never been kicked out of a church when invited by a Christian friend to come for a special event they are having and the friend is involved in some way.

What makes you think every christian thinks this way, I think its unfair to base christianity on a few sour experiance with a few fundamentalists, fundamentalists suck and we all know this when a bunch of these people get together bad things happen and they lose total sight of the message this is how 9/11s happen. I certainly don't say or feel that I am holier then thou and anyone who does has lost base with the true meaning of a christianity. I have seen apauling behavior from Theists and Atheists alike so I really can't offer you solice when your discontent is based on discontent and hatred for a small percentage of people who have lost sight in the real message and broadcast their self serving agenda. Look at every Christian atrocity in the last 1000 or so years if you read into it enough I think you'll find that in each circumstance there was an alterior motive to be exploited some of which are still exploited today and adding the religous angle was undoubtedly a propaganda technique to recruit followers in their conquest.

Fortunately here in the UK Christians and their leaders are treated with the respect they deserve - that is, they are completely and roundly ignored. When they set off on one of their holy crusades against some percieved social ill they are rightly seen as part of the problem, not the solution, and are roundly ridiculed.
And there is your salvation. The best way to deal with Christians and Christianity is to ignore it or ridicule it. THe idea that you are automatically a sinner and need saving is, after all, totally laughable. The idea there is an invisible superbeing watching everything you do is side splittingly funny. The very notion that three god's are really one, and that he and a cohort of angels and archangels somehow constitute monotheism is comical to the point of being side splitting.
Chrisitans are idiots with low morals and double standards. Get used to it. Read the other answers here - you can see what they are like. They have all the sympathy of a pirannah. Why would you let people of such little worth upset you?

It doesn't sound like to me that you know any real Christians. Either that or you have some crazy perfect standard for Christians to live by.
Look, I think you might have a mental issue if you are suicidal. I think blaming Christians is just an excuse.
The last time I checked, Christians don't go around forcing themselves on people. Just avoid the hypocrits if you have an issue. I really don't think you "know christianity inside and out" if you think you need to talk to a priest. We have pastors and preachers. You might be thinking of more along the lines of catholic denominations I suppose.
Anyway, it's a free country. If you use to be a Christian, then you never really believed if you fell away because of some anoying people. Quit a job maybe, but no leave your faith.

You should prove yourself to be strong than that. If you fall because of Christianity, then others might cause you to fall too. If you don't know how to deal with Christians, don't deal then, just walk away and leave your life the way you want it to be. All people are guilty of hypocrisy, it's in our nature and we can't do something about it. But live, you only have one life. Your life is precious like any other christians out there.

There are about 2 billion Christians on this planet. Some of them are real jerks, but some of them are really nice people. A lot of Christians risked their lives to save Jewish people during WWII. Don't base your decision on the bad ones - find some of the nice ones that do NOT have the "holier than thou" mentality - those people haven't caught on to Jesus's message of universal love.
BTW: I'm not a Christian, but I've been told I'm more "Christian" than a lot of them!

Please don't take your own life because of this. It's not worth it. You don't state whether you are in a situation where you are forced to be with christians, or not. If so, you must do your best to remain strong. If not, avoid them at all costs if you can for now. But keep this in mind, not all christians are like this. There are many that will accept you just the way you are.
If you do pursue a psychologist, feel free to make this your first question: Are you a christian? They will help you find someone who is either atheist or doesn't bring their religion to work. Please, keep trying!

How are you gonna blame a religon for you crazy bull$hit beliefs man?!! You really do need to see a shrink. You are one screwed up individual. I'm a Christian and trust me I'm not going to preach to you. I just think your whole question is bull$hit and you just want attention. Yeah I put a label on you and it's called raising the bull$hit flag. How do you know that it's only Christians who think you are full of $hit. I'm sure there are non-christians out there who are thinking the same thing I am.

You only have to grow up and become your own person. You are not alone, just separated from all the other atheists in your area. Moral support is available from like-minded and you just have to find them.
Reflect upon the fact that you are SUPERIOR to the deluded - think of it that way.
Go about your life in whatever way you decide and dismiss all the negative stuff. You don't need it. Avoid those who are determined to torment and the ability to do that comes with strength of character.
