I am an Atheist and I do for one. As for you Wiccan and witches who keep arguing that it is a pagan holiday as if they own it. Why not come on and enjoy Christmas with the rest of us.

I'm atheist and my family celebrates Christmas still. It's just a fun time to get together with family and friends, eat lots of yummy food, and exchange presents. It's the best holiday (next to thanksgiving) of the year.

Betty,
MOST of the people that I know celebrate Christmas as a day for families to gather and the children to enjoy. Whether they are Christian, Atheist, Muslim, Jewish, Agnostic, Wiccan, or whatever should not really matter. It is important to know that this is more of a tradition that a religious matter. Have a wonderful week and a glorious HOLIDAY!!
Thanks,
Eds

I'm not an atheist, but have a good friend who is. That person loves the holiday sales, the spirit of the season, and getting together with friends and loved ones at Christmas time.

although i'm not really atheist (or any other religion for that matter) i think it's wonderful to enjoy the smiles christmas brings. it's not all about (expensive) gifts or who can out do who with decorations and so on, it's about enjoying loved ones' company that you might not be able to enjoy on a regular basis, eating foods that aren't normally prepared throughout the year. hope everyone has a great holiday this year by the way!

i am also atheist and i enjoy it as well. it is a good time to sit down and catch up with friends and family especially family that you only see at this time of year. i can see why it would be a pagan holiday due to the fact that the "birth of jesus" is an estimated date.... even though i don't believe in him.. basically it is just a time to get off of school, work, etc. and enjoy the company of your close friends and fam.... ps if jesus does exist then this holiday shows Santa Claus > Jesus

Actually a lot of atheists, agnostics, Jewish people, and Christians-in-name-only enjoy the hell out of Christmas! It is a secular holiday as well as a religious one.

I was raised Jewish and when I was a kid we had a tree and everything. When I was little we went to the dept. store to visit Santa Claus and thank him for stuff, because Chaunnikah comes before Christmas. We weren't real religious Jews, you might call us 'Christmas and Easter Jews'. 8^)

Millions of Chinese in P R China also enjoy celebrating Christmas but it would be very difficult to find any icon or image of Christ cruxified on the cross. Why? Chinese people don't like to see "suffering". Enjoy!!

I don't think christmas is a good holiday because it is a consumer holiday as are pretty much all holidays (that are not radical holidays like MayDay...)! I like the december holiday season in the sense that getting together with friends and family is great but the whole consumerist spend spend spend thing just cheapens everything and just makes another excuse for people to want money for spending and more excuse to exploit people around the world!
