God spoke directly to the minds of those He used to write His Book, the Bible, over a period of about 1,500 years. He then used men to assemble and preserve it for 1,900 years after He finished writing it so we can hold a copy in our hands and read it today with total confidence that it is the complete Word of God – nothing more and nothing less. Therefore, God speaks to us today only through His Written Word – the Bible:

2 Peter 1:21 “For the prophecy [God’s Word] came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

Okay, so God took me out of the job that I was in before. It was paying very well, but I never spent time with Him at all and was consumed by this job. The job that I have now pays a lot less, but I spend time with Him daily in worship and prayer and my needs seem to be taken care of. I have come to be grateful and accepting of this position in my life now. Yesterday, I was told by a family member that there are positions available in my old job that pay EVEN MORE money. I applied but I don't have peace about this knowing the job will consume me again although I would have A LOT of extra money and pay off bills etc. What am I to do? The Bible tells us not to seek the things of the world (i.e. money etc.). I feel this is a temptation away from Him. Anyone else experience this type of thing? What should I do? Christian answers are appreciated. Thank you!

Let's say some hooligans raided the church and stole all the Communion wine. The church is in the middle of nowhere, there's no time to drive all the way to another church, or to a wine store to buy replacement communion wine. No one has wine to donate, but someone does have malt liquor.

Under those circumstances, could Malt Liquor be used in the Communion? Or would the priest just use something non-alcoholic like O'Douls Beer?

Please no preaching. I was a Satanist for about 8 months. About 5 months ago I left it behind, but find I am tempted into it again. I have been hardcore Wiccan/Pagan for a while. I don't even believe in a Satan! How can I know if he's real or not? I guess there's no way to prove his existence, like proving the existence of God...

Is this true? I have been a Christian all my life I still don't know if this is right or not. I receive the holy spirit when I was 20 it feel like fire from feet to my head I get chills just talk about it. but i never spoke in tongues! I know what I feels like! People told me I should have started speaking in tongues. Is this true if you don't speak in tongues you don't have the holy spirit?

Why is it certain Protestant groups ie. Evangelicals, Nondemos and Fundamentalists attempt to separate God from his Church?

I regularly hear such silly talk as "all I need is my bible" or "it's just me and Jesus" or "God gave me the inspired word and that's all I need to know"

really now, well would you mind explaining who did God give inspiration to to actually write that bible and don't you think we should also be obedient to that authority (his Church) in learning about "the word"?

Seems to me Protestantism (which includes Baptists, Nondemos etc) as much as it now prides itself on being "evangelical" has lost the message of a visible unity no wonder in the mission field they can no longer provide a strong witness to one faith, one baptism, one Lord.

I'm being serious here. Do churches buy really cheap wine, or is there some requirement that the wine tastes like that?

Could a priest bless some nice Merlot instead? Or a Sauvignon Blanc? Does Communion wine have to be red? Would a Zinfidel work?

There are a few vague references to the apocrypha in the NT. Does this make them inspired? Paul quotes a poem by Menanded in 1 Corinthians 15:33. So would Menander be inspired? In Acts 17:28 Luke quotes poets of the time. Does this make them inspired? So do references to the apocrypha make it inspired? If so shouldn't the poem and poets referred to above be considered inspired?

One of the R & S regulars has very recently come out of the atheist closet (in here, anyway). S/he has not told his/her family yet.

For those of you who grew up in a religious family, how did you tell your family about your atheism? Or, did you decide not to tell them?

IF GOD.... says it is Wrong.... Then WE... " HAVE TO ".... JUDGE IT ... WRONG!

(1Corinthians 5:1-to-5) On the whole it is reported that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not even named among the nations, so as one to have his father's wife.

(1Co 5:2) And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, so that he who has done this deed may be taken from your midst.

(1Co 5:3) For as being absent in body but present in spirit, I indeed have judged already as though I were present concerning him who worked out this thing;

(1Co 5:4) in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, with my spirit; also, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ;

(1Co 5:5) to deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

GOD calls it WRONG.... SO.... MUST..... WE!

Thanks for Answering ! RR
