Blasphemy of the holy spirit.
The case of "blasphemy against the Spirit" in the New Testament is mentioned in Mark 3:22-30 and in Matthew 12:22-32. The term blasphemy may be generally defined as "defiant irreverence." We would apply the term to such sins as cursing God, or willfully degrading things relating to God. It is also attributing some evil to God, or denying Him some good that we should attribute to Him. This case of blasphemy, however, is a specific one, called "THE blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" in Matthew 12:31. In Matthew 12:31-32, the Pharisees, having witnessed irrefutable proof that Jesus was working miracles in the power of the Holy Spirit, claimed instead that the Lord was possessed by the demon "Beelzebub" (Matthew 12:24). Now notice that in Mark 3:30 Jesus is very specific about what exactly they did to commit "the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit."
This blasphemy has to do with someone accusing Jesus Christ of being demon-possessed instead of Spirit-filled. There are other ways to blaspheme the Holy Spirit, but this was "THE" unpardonable blasphemy. As a result, the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit cannot be duplicated today. Jesus Christ is not on earth. but seated at the right Hand of God. No one can witness Jesus Christ performing a miracle and then attribute that power to Satan instead of the Spirit. Although there is no blasphemy of the Spirit today, we should always keep in mind there is an unpardonable state of existence--the state of continued unbelief. There is no pardon for a person who dies in unbelief. Continual rejection of the Holy Spirit’s promptings to trust in Jesus Christ is the unpardonable blasphemy. Remember what is stated in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life." The only condition when someone would have no forgiveness is if that someone is not among the "whoever believes in Him."

No, Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit cannot be done today. Read the text and you find the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit was the Jews saying that Jesus cast out Satan by Satan. No miracles today and Jesus is not in the flesh anymore this is impossible.
BB
Edit:
I see some answers that say blaspheming is the unforgivable sin and that blaspheming cannot be forgives. Read all of the accounts in Matthew 12:22-32 and the other Gospel accounts of this and you find Jesus saying that blasphemy against the father and the son can be forgiven but blasphemy against the holy Spirit cannot. The text is about Jesus casting out a demon.
Matthew 12:32- Whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man it shall be forgiven, bu whosoever speaketh against the Holy spirit is shall not be forgiven him neither in this world or the world to come.

There is only one unforgivable sin. That is rejecting the saving Work of Jesus. And the nature of that sin means you don't WANT to ask forgiveness. And yes, that is the same sin as blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.
The jokers above who think it is so funny to blaspheme the Spirit need not worry, they *are* rejecting Him, and so don't have to worry about going to any 'imaginary' Heaven.

There are no unforgivable sins if a man repents.
Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is unforgivable because those who deny the Holy Spirit deny God and can not know the truth to repent.

Blaspheming the holy spirit is an unforgivable sin. The Bible mentions this two different times. This is the only unforgivable sin in the whole book.

blasphemy is hte only one mentioned in the bible.
Although if someone breaks the commandment of worshipping other gods, their sins will be punished for 3 generations. So you can be punished for something you had absolutely no control over. That could prob be considered unforgiveable as well.

Attributing to Satan the works of God, which is what the Pharisees did. People of this age attribute apparitions of Mary to Satan, when they have not gotten final approval (or disproval) from the Vatican) This is a grave thing.
Also, holding a grudge: it's there in the "Our Father". "Forgive trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us."
In other words, if you don't forgive, it won't be forgiven of you.
Also: if you ignore those around you in need, as the rich man and Lazarus. The rich man could have helped the poor man, but did not, and his reward was eternal fire.
(also that guy who didn't forgive the debt of his minion, even though the King forgave his.)
It's about how WE behave in our forgiving ways. Have you TRULY forgiven?

The bible clearly calls blasphemy an unforgivable sin.
I think God's word is talking about the ULTIMATE disrespecting of Him!
God loved us so much that when mankind demands to know BOTH good AND EVIL, our Father gave us freedom to choose, limited to THIS life.
Evil is absolutely prohibited, from eternal Paradise, by GOD Himself, or it wouldn't be 'heaven' at all.
If this sin-cursed earth does not convince you that God has the right to limit our freedom to choose evil & sin in the after-life, then you ARE guilty of an unforgivable sin.
It's called "blasphemy" in scriptures. I call it "sending YOURSELF to hell"!!!
God gave us freedom to choose, so He will not drag unbelievers, kinking and screaming "NO!!!",to heaven.
Some evil souls would ruin the joy for the rest of us if they were there. As they say in my town, "To hell with them!"
Don't blame GOD foolishly. Personkind caused all the evils on earth, but there will be no sadness in heaven!
God is not unloving, allowing god-haters to go to hell. He loves every-one so much that He does not MAKE you obey.
He has hidden Himself to test our hearts. How do you behave when you think no one sees?
GOD SEES ALL!!!

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is mentioned in the Bible.
My father tells me no one can be forgiven if they successfully committed suicide because they aren't able to live to ask for forgiveness.
And we MUST forgive other people who sinned against us in order to receive forgiveness!

Blasphemy grieves the Holy Spirit -God in general but any sin is one and the same.Unpardonable until we repent.
The sin that i find atrocious is murder.I cannot fathom the mentality of someone who snuffs out someone's life.Even if someone asks for forgiveness,is it right that someone who has murdered, another one is rape and child abuse; how can they walk this earth having violated and scarred their victims for life, or robbed a family forever of their loved one?
