By doing nothing, we're not encouraging something, but we're giving the impression it's okay, and that allows others to continue to do things we don't condone. If you don't approve of something, you need to take a stand or be prepared to live with the consequences.

No, but some people like to pretend it is so they can legislate away anything they don't like.

No. By that logic I would be responsible for all the deaths in the entire world, which is pretty dumb, not to mention wrong.

yep...and for those who are trying to distance themselves from murder, rape and child abuse, etc...yes, you ARE responsible because you are not standing up and saying "NO" or "STOP" or something...
even if all you do is cast a lousy vote now and then...do something...it's your world too...
