I know that no one really has to convert, but I thought I'd ask this question anyway. I'd choose Hinduism, because it seems less hateful and violent than the latter. What do you think?

this come out of a communication that I just had this morning from someone on yahoo answers. If 60,000 babies are born everyday- and 4,000 are aborted does this make the number of abortions few? look at it through the eyes of the Creator, and that one life is worth so much.

I asked a couple questions today and mentioned a couple times that while I am a Christian, my husband is an atheist and I have had several "Christians" tell me that if I loved my husband I would try to make him into a believer of Christ.. so let me ask this..

My husband is a good man. he's an excellent father. he's faithful to me. He works long hours six days a week to provide for his family so that his wife (me) can be home witht he children because he feels that's important. He is kind to everyone and doesn't judge others' lifestyles. He doesn't try to tell me not to believe. In fact, he's happy that I am happy in my faith.

Forgive me if I insult you- but you are ALL judging other people unfairly when you claim that anyone who doesn't believe is bound for Hell. Do you realize that not believing isn't the only sin in the bible? So is judgint others- wearing make up- cross breeding cattle- and lying..

So what gives "christians" the right to say he's damned?

for every sarcastic response they give here? what will you say when god asks you to explain yourself? hmmm? God doesn't have sense of humour, look at the christians, he made them in HIS HOLY AND GLORIOUS IMAGE!!!!
REPENT NOW LEST HE SMITE YOU!!!!
god forgives all our sins, ask forgiveness, the time of judgement is now, but you have to ask PRAY!!! NOW!!!!!!!

peace and love

Many christians assert that we "left god" because we had a terrible childhood, or something else awful happened in our lives. Is that the case for any of you?
I, personally, am an atheist because I believe god isn't real - not because of my rotten childhood. Thoughts?

Everyone answered correctly, there was no bag. So far so good. Why believe in the big bang when there was no bang in the first place (not even a small one)?

Technologists are jumping on the "transhuman" wave... basically they think technology can, should, and will be used to increase our health, intelligence, and prosperity.

Isn't this anti-Christian? If God wanted our minds and bodies to be more advanced, wouldn't he have done it himself?

Its been in the news recently: http://www.transhumanism.org/index.php/WTA/index/

I just got took for $4.70. A guy came into the shop saying that his car broke down, (the timing belt went out). His grandmother and grandfather and two nieces are with him and and they only have .30 cents cash. It's a $1.00 per person for the bus. I gave $4.70 of my change. Then I watch him and he walks right past the bus stop, then I think well he has to walk back and get the rest of his family. Well it's been 30 minutes and he's long gone. He didn't look like a bum, he was clean well dressed, had a cell phone?

I'm single and every penny counts.
Of course, this is nothing to the $250.00 I paid for a boxer puppy I never got. I saw the puppy, it did exist. Then on the day I'm suppose to pick it up, it got into antifreeze and died. I never got my money back.

Why I'm I such a sucker? Should I just say no?

"Why are there atheists here on R&S?!"...

Obviously if someone has been here long enough to discover that there are atheists on R&S, they have been here long enough to see their question asked two hundred and eighty three (I counted) times an hour. Right?! Or do they just come in here randomly from other sections and quickly hit "Ask" to blurt this question out, assuming there are atheists here?

When someone tries to impose their beliefs over you, what do you do? Do you ever get discouraged? Do you ever question your beliefs? Do you care? Winston Churchill once said, "you create your own universe as you go along." Do you live by this?

How can a Christain woman who is supposed to be subserviant to a man be in a supervisor or boss position at work and not place themselves above a man in their faith? For that matter how can a Christain woman be a Pastor or Preacher in a church placing themselves at a higher place than men in their church, between men and God?

I am a Christian. I guess you could say "born again" although I never really stopped believing- I just didn't give it much thought. I won't get into details about what turned my life around, but they were meaningful to me and the only proof I need of God's existence ist he feeling I got that day when I opened my heart back up to him.

My husband is an atheist. I don't mind. That's his belief. We don't agree, so we don't really discuss. I love him- not what he believes about God or anything else.

I am not a bigot. I don't discriminate against anyone else's race, religion, culture, or sexual preference. My own Bible says the greatest thing God gave us was love- so when I get to my last day and, if I'm right, and there is a God and he asks how I spent my life- I think "I tried to love everyone regardless" will be a far better answer than "I hated the right people."

So why can't ALL people just agree to disagree and quit picking each other apart? You can't enjoy faith & hate..
