It's just for the drinks, isn't it? Admit it. I'm on to you!

You're right Gazoo, I meant to ask why you come to R&S...because asking questions isn't what's causing the drinking, it's the answering.

I make a terrible fundie.

behonest: VT is a sort of inside joke for R&S regulars, it stands for "Vile Temptress" and it's because we had a nasty troll who was called the women of R&S "VT's" as a derogatory term, so now we just embrace it.

Drinking questions are questions that are asked over and over, usually by Christian fundamentalists. This one (Why are atheists here?) is on the top of the list, along with various questions about evolution (If we came from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?) and atheism (Where do atheists get their morals?).

When someone asks those questions, respond with a *drink* because they really should know better, it shows all related questions. Mainly atheists play the drinking game, but some of us Christians join in too.

I'm here for the VTs..drinks are a bonus...

oh yea, and there's the sharing in theological discussion to promote understanding of others beliefs...but that's a distant third.

A curious Christian...what are VT's and do you really drink according to the questions asked? If so, what is the criteria for a drinking question? This will help me understand some of your (atheists) responses I read in the future.

EDIT: Thanks for answering without making fun! Now I feel enlightened on a whole new level!

As a pagan, I totally embrace this concept as one of the plankholders in the drinking game.

I wasn't aware of the history behind the vt thing.. I shall now promptly go and change my name to Kallan, VT ;)

((((((Rachel)))) where's my blog?

As long as there's scotch...Hellz yeah...but it's mostly to share theological discussions with others, to expand my own knowledge of various subjects. Also, I like to waste the time I got on here...nothing else better to do than to p1ss Christians off...it's rather entertaining sometimes...

I originally came here to strengthen my belief in God and guess what happened? Uh oh! :o)

Honestly, I'm here for the Vile Temptresses, too. I prefer to be associated with as many beautiful, intelligent women as possible. :o)

Because some of us use to think the ignant way some religious people do

and some of the questions we ask, are the same questions people asked us when we were ignant.

Drinks and entertaining and giving food for thought to other atheists, also, sometimes we seek to use humor to illuminate the facts for believers.
