I was severely beaten as a child. Yes, I still believe in God.

my view is that at one point or another in life one must come back to God for hope, happiness and ultimate inner peace because no matter how hard we try to ignore the one real truth we always fall backwards. Realizing there is one who will ALWAYS be there when the world steps out only then will we have some purpose to life.

I am speaking from my own personal life, I wasn't abused but b4 becoming a kidney failure patient for 6 yrs, I was a strong believer but then lost hope when saw no open windows but then getting a kidney transplant and also feeling sadness, no peace I realized my whole being is because I have separated myself from Him who has never let me.

And now just coming back to God everyday is different because it is here where we are loved unconditionally and can carry on with life knowing no matter what there is always someone looking over us and only wants the best in life for us for He created us.

Why would being beaten by your parent change the way you feel about God?

I was never beaten as a child, and I am fully convinced that G-d has plenty to do with that.

I was, and no. I don't believe in god, but it has nothing to do with the fact that I was abused. I blame my parents for abusing me, not a non-existant god.

Did god beat me? or did a human beat me. God is real and he can not be held accountable for the wills of wicked men\ women.

I was and I still do. It wasn't GOD who beat me. It was a choice my DAD made.
