The ridiculousness of their explanations has never stopped them before.
These are the same people who believe that some dude packed two of every mammal, bird, reptile, amphibian, insect, crustacean and spider on the planet onto a boat, sailed with them for forty days and nights, and then put them all back where he found them afterwards.
And you're expecting rational explanations of fossil evidence from them?

I am not one of the Christians that believes this, but I do know how they explain things. Many don't believe in carbon dating at all. They say that it is so flawed that there is no way that the estimates are accurate. There have been tests done where carbon dating was used on objects where we know the date. Carbon dating puts it much, much older. Using this, they believe that the earth cannot be as old as people think it is. Secondly, some people that the fossils have been placed by God to trick people, to test them. God wants to see who his true followers are by seeing if they were ignore science for the sake of his word. I've heard those words spoken by a friend of mine. I agree, though, it is a bit ridiculous.

Christians don't believe satan but them there to test them, I am also not sure where this figure of 5 thousand years came from, no-one actually knows how old the earth is although lots try and sell their opinion as fact. Why worry about fossils and how old they are? genesis gives an account of creation and 7 days as a time scale but who knows how many minutes or hours in God's days, just rest assured and discover the intelligent and creative design of an amazing God

More like 6000.
Satan didn't put them there.
There was no death in the world until the fall in the Garden in Eden. During the flood, sweeping changes on the land must have happened to bury everything not on the Ark of Noah.
Put various soils, small rocks and bits of things of various weight into a jar of water. Shake it up, and let it sit.
Eventually, when it settles, you will see a perfect example of what happened during the flood. Layers of sediment, heavier objects nearer the bottom, etc.
All fossils can date no further back than those times.

Who actually said that they were planted by satan? Was it a statement issued by a Christian theologian, or the drunken ramblings of your borderline retarded neighbor Jim? For those misguided Christians who actually believe that the earth is 6000 (not 5000) years old, they typically cite the example of the fossilized foot found in a modern cowboy boot in Arizona.

he fossils came when the entire earth was covered with water and the plants and animals and humans were covered in mud. The Biblical Flood explains a great deal on why the fossils even exist.

do no longer blame all Christians for this mendacity nonsense. This rubbish is in basic terms spouted by ability of a minority of self defined "Bible believing Christians", as a rule restricted to sects that have originated interior the u . s . a . and function a tendency to flow in for fairly numerous stuff that maximum of the individuals of Christians do no longer believe, which contain the meant "rapture" quickly this is theologically and Biblically suspect. there could be a controversy that those persons are no longer Christians in any respect. there is an exceptionally reliable argument that the great opposition to "evolution" and the "great bang" theory is fostered by ability of agencies that exist completely to make money or from time to time political make the main of those deluded people. I refer particularly to lie factories like solutions in Genesis and the invention Institute that are little extra suitable than propaganda machines run by ability of frauds for the ease of frauds.

Interesting how they also apparently think that a single flooding event can lead to fossils being found at multiple different depths, in different rock types, at a single site.

And Satan put all those false memories we have in our heads just for fun...
You have to admit...
As a lifeform on this planet...

The Earth is around 6000 years old, what do you mean how do they explain fossils? Do you know how fossils form? Yes, it is rediculous to say that, most of them were burried in the flood.
