My question is brought up because they're are so many couples living together today. I am 47 and have been married going on 17 years. My personal feeling is that I never wanted to live with a woman because to me there is not a full commitment.. I have always felt the you have one foot in and one foot out the door! What is your feeling?

Isn't wine fermented grape juice? And fermentation makes it alcoholic. Are these christians lying to people to keep them from drinking wine?

And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. 2The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. 3One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast. 4Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?"

5The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months. 6He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. 7He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe,

Lately I've been asking God what He wants me to do with my life (im in college) and I haven't gotten an answer. The whole nun thing has crossed my mind a few times but I brushed it off as just being into the religion. I've asked God to give me a path that involves the church. The . Im a JR in college, my family hates catholics and I havent gotten along with them since the left the church. I'm only truely happen when at mass. thought of being a nun scares the crap outta me yet makes me happy at the same time

Hi everyone!
I am 47 and my wife, my daughter and myself go to church each Sunday morning(we are Catholic). I know sometimes we are not always able to make every Sunday! But one of my pet peeves is when I come to church, say on Christmas for mass or Easter for instance. You see people that you never see at church the whole year?? I guess what I do not get is.. do you think those few times a year they go make up for most of the Sunday's they do not? I've always felt that I could not do that myself because I would feel somewhat of a hipercrite>

What do you think....??

They keep saying a lot of b.s. about Islam; citing some myths and some other queer verbs of a few Muslim retards. To understand a religion, you've got to read it well from its authorized scholars; not from blind bigots who wish criticizing a religion by any means.

I believe if we keep ourselves blind and fanatic like that, we shall abandon the very first principle of victory: "seek the truth at any cost". Knowing the truth is a primary light of success, isn't it?

Well...sorry for being critical, but isn't it about time we improved ourselves??

Sometimes I feel so strong in my faith, and at other times I question whether I really believe or if I am following the crowd for comfort. Sometimes the presense of GOD is so POWERFUL, but others I am consumed with doubt.

I was raised in the church. My parents didn't go though. When my dad died at ten, I stopped going, but I didn't connect my dad's death with my renunciation of religion until later in life. I became a Christian less than one year ago. But I so often doubt my authenticity. I have been messing up more since I have become a Christian with personal bad habits, depression, and difficulty forgiving people. I just want to get close and be led again.

I have done some horrible things that I know I do not deserve forgiveness for, and I have such trouble believing that I am forgiven.
Any advice?

I recently read that Catholics don't aquire all their teachings from the bible alone. If this is so, then where else would a church aquire their "rules"

If Moslem's Jews and Christians worship the same merciful God why not respect each other"s believes and let God decide who is right or wrong since His decissions are unchallenged.

Wouldn't God want each person to be able to understand it for themselves? Doesn't he trust the average person's intelligence?

I regard myself as a Christian, however I do not believe in churches as such. I believe no one needs to speak to their god through a middle man and nor do they need to congregate in order to be a 'good' christian.

I also do not criticise religious beliefs that conflict with mine as who am I to criticise others?

Yet a lot of supposed christians believe I am not christian because I do not attend church etc.

So, what DOES it take to be a chritian is my question, I refuse to believe I am so wrong in my thing

This is for those of you who posted that you would prefer a christian teacher for your children...and for those of you who think that somehow an atheist or homosexual couldn't be as good or better than a christian one.

Do you really believe that? I'm an atheist and a teacher-and a darn good one if I may say (or at least the parents and children say). If you found out that I was an atheist and your child was in my class, would that be a problem?

I am an intelligent, tolerant, and kind person who believes that no views on religion or politics should be talked about or implied by ANY teacher at any time. That is not my job and I would personally be horrified if any teacher of my own child shared their views on faith or politics within their classroom.

Your thoughts?

1 John 1:5
"This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." I think that death is a bad thing, so why then would people say that God kills and destroys and is angry and brings evil on people if 1 John 1:5 totally contradicts their "logic"?
