Starting as an agnostic, I gradually came to believe that the universe had been created. Since I then believed in a Creator who brought order out of the initial disorder of the Big Bang, and gave order to animate things (instinct), I came to believe he would also give direction to his creation which could think and communicate.

It seemed to me that this direction would come from the most reasonable of the most ancient writings and that it would be universally available to humankind.

The only writing that meets those requirements is the Bible.

So I chose to believe the Bible as the basis of my faith.

I came to believe because I did grow up this way but as I got older, I studied more. It really does "come alive" and speak to you and there is so much in there that science backs up...it has to be true. For instance, centuries before man learned the world was round, Isaiah wrote " The LORD sits enthroned above the circle of the earth." Now how did a farmer who never went anywhere or had formal schooling know the world was round? And Job, the oldest book, describes the science of hydrology so well. All the prophecies concerning Christ were fulfilled. All the prophecies made by the prophets regarding the kingdoms, etc have been fulfilled. The odds of that happening by chance with no margin for error are about 1 in 10 to the umteenth. Astronomical. There is so much. Get a copy of Cosmic Codes by Chuck Missler or John McArthur's tape "You Can Trust The Bible."

Yip - it was by an experience. I never believed in the bible, but as some friends tried to share it to me, I got to a point where reading it was fine but knowing whether it was real was not so straight forward. Then I did a course related to this a while back and I was told the ultimate was not to try and understand the words in the bible but to understand that you can experience the spriitual awakening (a lreationship with God) should you choose to let it in. Further I was told that what have I to lose, if I did believe it was true momentarily and found no spiritual awakening (referred to as God's Holy Spirit) then I could say it was all rubbish. If I did get and sense and experience then I'd know it was true. So I put it to the test and found it was real, because I was overcome with this intense flood inside me. I decided it was real, but only after months of doubting it....and the months of doubting were really because I know if it was real, then there were some consequences for me personally I didn't want to admit to (ignorance was much more bliss). Hopefully this helps somewhat. Anyone can experience this, you just need to know how and be genuine in wanting to know.

Sure. I have been a researcher, scientist, inventor for the past 43 years beginning at the age of 20. The evidence is too heavy from the 4 main sources of truth which are Religion, Science, History and Philosophy in their glorious harmony. In all history inside the 6,000 years of man's recorded history unto the present VOIP Internet Protocol age era we are in now, the advanced progressive nations in the world are adherents to the very God of the Bible. At present there are 67 most advanced nations dominated by Bible Christians lead by America, UK, Canada, etc. What more why you wanted to ask?

Why don't you believe the Bible, You probably don understand it, I know you wasn't given the understanding from God,
The predictions made in the bible are coming true. Its the only book where the prophecies are true, and was made far in advance. All the wars, and rumor of wars came true, that's happening now. prophecy's in the bible is happening now. check out the news.
I was raised in a christian family, but I don't go to these so churches out there today, until I find the true church. I study my Bible, you have to get the understanding from God. Satan has so many false religions out there, and false teachers, you really have to pray for Gods spirit to give you strength to resist Satan.I know the bible is true, I have the faith, if you don't , brother, you'll lost.

Usually when I hear the truth I'm a pretty good judge of weather it really is or not. So through the years I've read and read the Bible over and over. It was hard at times because it can be boring and repetitive but it was invaluable to me. God called me and how he salted me with fire and I know that he exists. Hell is real and Heaven is were I'll be. The Bible is a great book that is inspired by God.

It is more than how I was raised. It was what I witnessed as I grew up. I see the fingerprints of God all over the place. I see God's promises fulfilled first in my mothers life than in my own. There are those who say the Bible contradicts itself and after research for myself I find it does not in fact contradict itself. Just the concept of how the Bible came to be is to astonishing to not take it seriously. It was written over a period of more than 1400 years and by more than 40 authors and yet they all seem to agree with each other. Prophecies are fulfilled over and over both in NT and OT. The NT is too unbelievable to be a hoax. If it was made up it would have been watered down to be more believable.

When I was eight years old I was sitting in church with my family. During the invitation I suddenly starting sweating and my heart started pounding in my chest and there was a voice inside my chest telling me I need to be saved. I was crying and I just knew that I needed to be saved, and that voice just kept saying you need to be saved. So I went up front and told the Preacher I need to be saved. The Preacher got down on his knees with me and we prayed and the Holy Spirit came into my heart and has been there every since. I have been saved for a long time and never once has the Spirit left me even though I have sinned more times than I care to count. I am a work in progress but I am growing in the knowledge and wisdom of Jesus. Only thru him can we change. Without his help and saving grace I would be on the road to Hell but his grace saved my soul by washing away my sins. I didn;t know nothing at all about the Bible when I got saved. But over the years I have read it thru many times and I try to Pray everyday and I am slowly learning to trust him more and more. I do have now a peace and contentment about me that has just came about in the last two or three years. A real feeling of peace in my soul. I am no longer searching. I have found all I need. Jesus died for my sins on the cross and arose from the grave. Praise the Lord. If you have never accepted Jesus as your Saviour and would like to just say this prayer believing, Jesus will do the rest, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

I believe that the Bible is the Word of God because God has proved to me that it is true through my own personal experiences. It is alive and speaks to my circumstances. It has brought me comfort, wisdom, and knowledge. I also see how Science proves the Bible which really blows my mind because I use to think that the Bible contradicted Science, but was before I believed in God. Now that my eyes are opened, I can see the truth.
