Im in Australia, and a political party called Family First, they advocate many christian values and wish to enforce these agendas.

Who out there believes that such a party should be allowed to make policy when most of there agenda points to a particular religious faith. this is suposed to be a free country with religious and personal choice, however if they have power then certain choices will be outlawed

I am a wiccan and when i tell some people they stop talking to me,others are understanding and what to learn more. Why can' t i be who i am. What happen to freedom of religion? Most Christians i find are the ones who don't understand. I love all people and i don't care what God or Gods the pray to.

Where I live there is a giant cross up on a hill overlooking the city. An atheist back when I was a kid tried to get it removed through legal proceedings, and ultimately failed. So I was wondering if someone were to put a pentagram up there if anyone could legally take it down (it is public land). I mean if the cross is allowed up there, then why shouldn't someone else's religious symbol be allowed? I'm not satanic and I don't really care if religious symbols are up on the hill as long as they are treated equally. That's what I'm all about. What do you think?

Jean Calvin labored to form a Salvationist doctrine that eliminated the need for the orthodoxy of the Church creating a coherent alternative to Luther’s form of state Catholicism and changing the Gospel, faith and practice of the orthodoxy of Catholicism. Essentially, Zwingli and Calvin accomplished a syncretic blend of Secular Humanism and Christianity creating a church devoid of even some of the essentials of faith and practice taught by Christ and the apostles. It was a departure from orthodoxy towards a religion where God serves man rather than man serving God, and reducing Christ to just a man who did not perform His miracle of the Eucharist and is really not present with His Church as He promised. His flesh does not profit us with eternal life as Jesus taught in John 6 but it is our carnal beliefs that we can trust instead of the faith we receive from His Spirit. These Reformed teachings are the doctrines of men and oppose the teaching of Christ, the apostles and the Church.

Help! I know that in order for sin to be forgiven, (I have a doozie) you have to confess, repent, ask for forgiveness and then walk away from that sin. Is there anything Biblical (with citations please) that requires that I confess the sin to anyone other than God? I know that my sin is ultimately against Him and adds struggles to my walk with him. But, it is at least on some level also against another person here on earth. Can anyone tell me if I can be truly forgiven without sharing my sin with this other person, keeping in mind that sharing it will surely create heartache? Also... how about my own feelings of despair over my transgressions? I understand that guilt is there to show us that we have gone against God's wishes for us, but I am acutely aware of that, what do I do now? Thanks!

So why not let go of the land?

I do not deny that Protestants have some truth. Certainly Christ is present in protestant worship in a Spiritual sense but He taught that we are to receive Him in His corporeal sense as well. He went further to teach us that it is necessary for us to participate in the Mass and actually receive His Body and Blood to have eternal life. Think about the teaching of St. Paul where he said that we must discern the Body of our Lord before receiving His body and Blood. If it is not real, how can we discern something that only is symbolic or a representation of His Body? If it is not real, does not the penalty of death or of sickness become severe and senseless? It is my opinion, based on Scripture alone, that recognizing the real corporeal presence of Christ in the Eucharist is the mark of the true Church and that it is His Body and Blood that bestows upon us the grace to endure to final salvation to eternal life.

I was inspired to ask this question by the intelligent statement of an answerer that many devout atheists and agnostics actually become religious about being non religious. So here's the quote. What do you think?

"That which desacrilizes a given reality, itself in turn, becomes the new sacred reality."

For example, I think religions are a from of brainwashing, and I many times said that Christians are brainwashed.
That is my opinion, should I avoid saying that, and pretend that I do not think they are brainwashed so that nobody gets offended ?
isn't it being an hypocrite if I we do not speak our mind?
Someone might say it is not tactful, how can you convey the same thought without using the word brainwashed then?

I understand free speech, but it really gets on my nerves when people make posters saying God hates gays/lesbians.

When will people get it into their head that God doesn't hate anyone, He hates sin, not the people who sin. Otherwise we'd all be in trouble.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, "There is none that is righteous, not even one."
(righteous meaning free from guilt or sin)

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

I am a lapsed catholic,i have 2 young children who attend the local catholic primary school,i am not married to my childrens father and dont intend getting married,we are still very happy together and were together long before the kids came along.I,ll admit i got the kids baptised to get them in the school as its a good one, anyway to cut a long story short ive read a book and i feel i want to start going to mass again.

I will not go to confession either, and dont agree with some of the rules of catholism ,but think as the children are at the school i should really go to that particular church.

my question is do you think i will be accepted into the church,or do you think that if i cant live my life completley by the catholic guidelines i shouldn,t be allowed back in?

I want to know what you think as i am quite nervous about asking the priest. Thanks in advance
