Jean Calvin labored to form a Salvationist doctrine that eliminated the need for the orthodoxy of the Church creating a coherent alternative to Luther’s form of state Catholicism and changing the Gospel, faith and practice of the orthodoxy of Catholicism. Essentially, Zwingli and Calvin accomplished a syncretic blend of Secular Humanism and Christianity creating a church devoid of even some of the essentials of faith and practice taught by Christ and the apostles. It was a departure from orthodoxy towards a religion where God serves man rather than man serving God, and reducing Christ to just a man who did not perform His miracle of the Eucharist and is really not present with His Church as He promised. His flesh does not profit us with eternal life as Jesus taught in John 6 but it is our carnal beliefs that we can trust instead of the faith we receive from His Spirit. These Reformed teachings are the doctrines of men and oppose the teaching of Christ, the apostles and the Church.

If you do not believe in either salvation or damnation then why would one need a church?

That would apply to one who does follow the church I suppose, but what makes it say it has to be a church, did not it say that one can pray anywhere except Catholics?

Muslims of course would never use a church but a Mosque and Jews would use a synagogue. your question leaves many faiths and beliefs out of it and is solely based in one view how is that make the question logical then? A Pagan would only need the outside. An Atheist would insist that the church did not exist even if was right in front of them and the agnostic would debate all day if it was really there or not. So that about sums up your answer from most perspectives I think. Oh, and the Islamic militants will send a car bomb probably if they knew which church!

Salvation and redemption come from within and from those that love you. That for me is more important and always will be. I love the architechture of Churches, Mosques and Synagouges but I would never think to worship something I do not believe in there so that woud be why so many don't because they do not believe in it. I do not mean god, I mean the church. It has lost its meaning to many as a place of sanctum and safety.

Faith is good, but the Church has a lot of redemption to do itself I think!! Ask all those alter boys!!

What does that rather long statement you made have to do with your original question?
But back to your original question. Salvation is not the church.
The church is not the building, it is Gods people.
Salvation comes from the saving grace of Jesus Christ. You don't have to be in a church to find salvation, but after you find salvation, it could help you to find a church (a group of Gods people) because you will need fellowship and guidance from other people. Once you find salvation, you will want to learn more about the word of God and all His glory. What better place than one where the people believe like you do.

The Roman Catholic Church is a melting pot of Pagan practices and has long ago subjugated the Bible to being less value than the words of the current Pope (whoever that may be). And the Pope is a man that has others wait on him hand and foot, this is a far cry from the teaching of Jesus that if any would be great among you let him be the servant of all. Also the Catholics worship Mary more than they do God. I give as evidence of that the fact that the Rosary ( borrowed from the Hindu religion) mentions Mary 10 times more than it does God. They also venerate "saints" but the Bible calls all believers Saints. They pray to the so-called saints to intercede for them but the Bible says that Jesus is the Mediator, not some saintly person that is dead and in Heaven. The rock on which the Church is built is Jesus not Peter (a small stone). Sorry but the Roman Catholic Church did not arrive on the scene until well after Peter was dead, so how pray tell can it be that he was the First Pope? The Romans built a great web of deception and became assured of mention in the Bible as the great Harlot that sits on the 7 hills. I am sorry to bust your bubble dear one but the Catholic Church also condones Priests that sexually abuse children, and they have Bishops that do not meet the Biblical standard for Bishops that Paul outlined for Timothy. A Bishop must be the husband of one wife and must have his house in order, or how shall he handle the affairs of God.

First of all, I'm assuming that you are saying that the Catholic church is His church? Christ's church or the body of Christ, has no walls and is not an institution or building and is made up of spiritually born again christians. Salvation never came through religion or a specific church. Christ came to set us free from religious bondage. And from religious systems. His way is the way to salvation and it never included priests setting up an altar with a little wafer that is suppose to represent Christ's death and resseurection. His church is not the catholic religious system or any church claiming to be the One true church. The catholic church is full of lies and paganism.

Your church membership does not save you, only by your faith and trust in Jesus, that is what saves your soul.

Whew! I'm in the clear. I don't believe in salvation at all. I haven't done anything to be saved from.
Hail the Gods!

Salvation does not happen in groups! Salvation is an individual reward from our Heavenly Father.

9"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. 11I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command. ...Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 17This is my command: Love each other.

Your question made me cross-eyed for a minute.

The fact is, there is no salvation any way you look at it. The whole Jesus doctrine was a hoax. You are wasting your brain on a lot of nonsense.

Ever thought of getting back in school? It wouldn't hurt.
