I am a wiccan and when i tell some people they stop talking to me,others are understanding and what to learn more. Why can' t i be who i am. What happen to freedom of religion? Most Christians i find are the ones who don't understand. I love all people and i don't care what God or Gods the pray to.

First off, Kudos to your attitude of 'loving all'.
Frankly, so many folk out there are caught up with themselves. They cannot accept that they may be wrong in anything, especially their beliefs, and so they declare that others are 'wrong' to believe differently than what they themselves do.
As a fellow Wiccan, who has experienced the same problem, may I say that you should follow your beliefs in this, and dont be afraid to tell people your religion. Just ignore the people who stop talking to you, they arent worth it if they will not accept you for who you are.

You can be who you are- just not with everyone. That goes across the board- it's not just a religious thing....as you grow older, you will find a lack of acceptance and tolerance in many areas.

You do have freedom of religion. No one can stop you from being Wiccan, whether they like it or not. They also have the freedom to avoid or even ostracize you, as painful as that is. No one has to accept you. They're just not allowed to harm you or take action against you that would make you unable to practice your beliefs.

I think that most of the time, people react with rejection because they're fearful. Many Christians actually believe Wiccans are "devil worshippers"- and others may think that you're unstable if you believe in something they consider unrealistic. I've heard Wiccan belief's called "Magical Thinking" by the Psychiatric Community- as if Wiccans were one step away from being delusional. Many of the more logically minded think this as well.

Personally, I can't wrap my head around a virgin giving birth- not unless she had a girl child, which would be parthenogenesis.

You have a right to be who you want to be. If some one stops talking to you simply because of your beliefs, then they were not much of a friend to begin with. When I tell people I am a
Christian, I hold my head up high, because I am proud of who I am. I have friends who are of different religions and faiths, and also some who are atheists. But we are still friends. They don't believe the way I do and I don't believe the way they do. But we respect each others rights. And that is what makes a good friend. We don't always understand each others beliefs either, but we try never to argue about it.

I am a Wiccan and I've met very few who have a problem with it over the past 20 years I've been Wiccan.

There is a terrible stigma attached to the Wiccan religion. I've studied Wiccan and there's no way I could ever devote my life to it.

That's just my thing. You shouldn't expect people to just understand. Some people won't.

Good luck

To them, you are sinning, and have the ability to spread your ideas (wiccan religion) to others, they fear this, that is why they burned them at the steak many years ago, I get the same response about athiesm, the truth is that there will never be complete freedom of religion because there exist more than one that disagree with one another

You will come up against some hardcore preprogramming that has always and will always control them. Feel sympathy for them and let them be. It's not worth wasting your time fretting over their frivilous filth.

Let's count back 2000 years and check the body counts of humans killed by Christians against the body count of those killed by pagans/wiccans. Reality tells the truth of the two groups. Stand proud. ; )

You can be who you are, but you can't expect everyone to be willing to try to understand... I wish life did happen that way, but it doesn't and we all must learn to deal with it in a rational way. If they stop talking to you, then don't bother with them anymore. In order to get the info out, you can only give it to those who are willing to listen to you.

Most people have already made up their minds when it comes to certain things. Religion -- especially those that embrace witchcraft -- is usually one of those things.

You have to choose the path that's right for you. Everyone isn't going to understand it. Just continue loving them regardless of how they feel about you.

There are older souls and then there are more juevenile souls, that's the difference.

The older souls are open-minded, peaceful, inquisitive, caring, compassionate, etc. The juevenile souls can be very arrogant, self-absorbed, and narrow-minded. Stick with the old souls. (When you can see pain in someone's eyes they usually have an old soul.)
