What if the Bible said "the sky is green and anyone who doesn't believe this will be cast to hell for eternity with no chance of parole..ever.. muahhahaha"

Would you still legitimately believe that the sky was green, even though everyone with a decent set of eyeballs can tell that its blue?

Hi,

My name is Julie and I safely left the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints as a teenager with the help of a lady we all called "Mom." I have decided to help other young ladies leave LDS without getting caught by church leaders.

There is a safe way to leave cults.

We know how men like Hinckley and Jeffs have so much power over "their" people and we want to help. Let me know if you need to get help!

keep repeating what the Bible says.
why cant you talk about personal experiances with the Lord instead of repeating what a book says? say, I did this and because of that God blessed me with this? or God showed me that I should do this and guess what happened/? he was right. thats the kind of thing most people want to hear, they do not want to hear you repeating a book that they dont believe in anyway.

Does Scripture say anything about this; either for or against it?
If we possess "gifts"; are we to lay them down & forget about them, or are we to use them & stir them up?
Can you cite passage & verse, please?
Thanx.

And forcing them to "convert", whether they wanted to do so or not?

It seems to me that Christians have got a lot of explaining to do.

that it will actually make a difference to us? If we dont believe in God, then we dont believe in Heaven or Hell, so what do they expect to achieve from threatening us with something we dont believe in?

Jesus directed his true followers to preach and teach others his commandments. (matthew 28:19-20) Why is this so important?

Atheists, if religion is something that you are taught
does that mean you would have been religious if you were raised differently?

The most logical answer of course is "jesus would never ask that". But hypothetically speaking, what if you were alone in your backyard and all of a sudden jesus floated down out of the sky and told you that he chose you spread the word of his return.

He claims that you have been chosen to rid the world of as many sinners as possible. He says you will not be punished and that you are guaranteed a spot in heaven. He even levitates and does other magical things to prove that he is really jesus.

Would you go out an kill for him if you really felt deep inside that it was real?

I see a lot on here where non-believers tell Christians they are sinning by judging. However this is not true. Christians are not told they cannot judge. They are told by what measure they judge they will be judged. So if I judge someone for something and yet I do the same I judge myself. We are in fact told we will judge the world.

1Corinthians 6:2 Do ye not know that the SAINTS SHALL JUDGE THE WORLD? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

We are told to mark those who cause divisions and offenses contrary to doctrine. So saying that someone who says they are a Christian and condones homosexuality is wrong is not sinning but merely following the Bible.

We are told by Christ to judge using righteous judgment. This means use the Bible as a guide for judging. If it contradicts the Word we are free to judge it so.

So my question is can you see the difference between judging in sin and judging in righteousness?

verses below.

Please do not resort to: (1) Using the dubious addendum to Josephus; (2) Twisting the Old Testament prophesies and writings; or (3) Resorting to the New Testament to prove itself.

While watching a documentary on the Pyramids of Egypt on the Discovery Channel this morning, I had to raise an eyebrow to a statement they made at the beginning: "The Pyramids were not built by slaves, the 'fact' is, contrary to popular 'myth', Egypt never had slaves, they didn't need them... they had the Nile River which provided them with enough water and resources that the communities flourished and provided them with enough free time to build the Pyramids without slaves"

Now I noticed the word "fact" being used and yet they didnt provide any information on the alleged "fact" other than Egypt has the Nile River. Does anyone know any other evidence since slavery in Egypt has very long writen histories?

A friend of mine recently got laughed at by fundamental Christians because she said she believed people go to heaven because they are good no matter what religion they are. i thought this was a lovely thought but Christians thought that it was stupid. Why are other peoples ideas rejected by "fundies" while they expect utmost respect for their beliefs?
