Hi,

My name is Julie and I safely left the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints as a teenager with the help of a lady we all called "Mom." I have decided to help other young ladies leave LDS without getting caught by church leaders.

There is a safe way to leave cults.

We know how men like Hinckley and Jeffs have so much power over "their" people and we want to help. Let me know if you need to get help!

I got free from it also. After I became born-again my eyes were really opened to the truth of what they were really teaching. Thank you for reaching out to others. Leaving takes alot of spiritual warfare and the Blood of Jesus.

Wow. I never knew you needed some "coach" to write a simple letter to Salt Lake City asking to have your name removed.

That is what this "Mom" did right, seeing as it is that simple to leave?

I left the church before. Gordon B. Hinckley didn't come after me. I doubt he had any knowledge of me personally. If he did, then the man deserves some major recognition. Able to run a worldwide church AND keep track of 13 million people! That takes some skill.

I'm almost a little jealous that they wanted to keep you soooooooo badly that you needed this coach to rescue you from it, when the church so easily let me go without a fight.

Or maybe you're lying......

Hmmmm.......

Jeffs belongs to an mutant off shoot of the LDS Church, and has nothing to do with the main body of the Church!
And anyone can leave the church whenever they want to , and they won't be missed!
AND GET THIS PEOPLE! NO MORE POLYGAMY! ARE YOU DUMB@SSES SO STUPID YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND PLAIN ENGLISH? NO MORE POLYGAMY! GOT IT! ONE MORE TIME! NO MORE POLYGAMY!
I ''see'' that the trolls are out in force today! If you anti mormon bashers are having so much fun, the LDS won't stop you? They live for your arrogance, and stupidity! They will continue to squash you maggots, like the vile slime you are! Who do you think you are!You do not have the right to attack people for what they believe!
And just as a matter of interest! I have see some dumb@sses claim, that when the LDS dare to defend themselves, that they are considered to be ''whiny'', and nasty, and then they complain, and holler 'persecution'!
I have read nothing but respect when they deal with you excuses of humanity! And if some get ' lippy', oh well! They are entitled to defend themselves against an onslaught of filth, you ignorant @ssholes throw at them every day on this format!
I have no problem telling you what you are! You are the scum, clogging up the pond ! The garbage from the sewer! And you people have thrown worse than this at them! So you go right ahead and report me! I have broad shoulders,, and then YOU will be the ''whiny ones'' so go ahead!
Oh, and by the way, I am not LDS! I am an atheist!
MY aunt is a member! You jerks seem to think that you can do and say whatever you want to under the guise of ''being helpful"" Well they don't need it! they have everything they need, and they don't need a damned thing from you idiots!
what they believe is of no interest to anyone else, and those interested in joining should be left alone!
How would you like it if people constantly slammed the church you attend!?Trust me, you wouldn't like it!
So hereafter, if you are so fricking bored? Go play phone games, or chase parked cars, that seems to be your mentality, but stay off of the computer, and leave decent people alone! 'Cause if you keep it up, I will report you ,every damn time!

DO NOT PUT HINKLEY IN THE SAME CATEGORY AS JEFFS!!

He is not the same at all. Gordon B. Hinkley is a loving, caring kind old man who would never hurt anyone, let alone women and children.

People come and go from the LDS church all the time without having a threat to their lives.

You really need to get you facts straight.

Interesting. I've known many people who have left the LDS Church without your help, or anyone's help. These people simply went to their Bishop and asked for their names to be removed from the Church records. It took about 5 minutes. I was sad that they left, but it was their choice.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not a cult, but current definitions. I am sorry that you think so, and have to assume that you have been brainwashed. I hope that some day you grow up and discover how wrong you are.

The be attentive to expertise began out by using way of advice and not commandment - Wilford Woodruff replaced it to a commandment as by using that element it replaced into held as such by using almost all and sundry besides. God's no longer likely to have a girl go through for her husband's transgressions. i understand of a reliable kinfolk the place the guy replaced into got here across to be living a 2d existence opposite to the gospel. i replaced into bowled over to take heed to approximately it as he did no longer look the kind to me. His spouse has been dedicated and a large lady - there is already a punishment that she feels now loosing a marriage and being emotionally injury by using issues. not at all will she sense greater injury in heaven by using her modern-day loss. She'll be compensated for her tears and land up in a difficulty the place each blessing that she might have attained along with her husband would be granted to her. human beings of the two genders locate themselves in this condition - yet God does not supply up on them. No guy/lady would be punished for anothers errors, that isn't in any respect take place. She'll be large, he has a the right thank you to flow, yet no physique's perfect the two. coffee and somewhat rum are undesirable as a results of fact he's covenanted to no longer drink them, however the worst section approximately that's if a guy can no longer save the little covenants, i could be worried approximately what different issues are being hidden from view in straightforward-sight.

Boy, and I thought I lived in MY own little world.

You want to hear something really weird?

I've never even MET Pres. Hinckley. He has no power or control over me whatsoever. Shoot, he's about 2000 miles away.

Just out of curiousity, what is the safe way to leave cults? Anything like the 20 ways to leave your lover?

and as far as Jeffs is concerned, he can rot in that prison (never met him, either, don't want to).

edit: hey, dissenting one, don't hold back, man, tell us how you REALLY feel!!

This sounds like an Internet pervert trying to lure teens into a dangerous situation.

He is probably a man -- not a woman and might want to hurt young girls

Watch out!

If you want to leave the LDS church then do it. Sorry to see you go but it's your choice.

So how was the leap off the temple into the Great Salt Lake? That's the only thing keeping me from leaving. I'm scared it's going to hurt.

Dictionary definitions of "cult"
Dictionary definitions of the term "cult" include at least eight different meanings. These include both classic and unorthodox religious practice, extreme political practice, objects or concepts of intense devotion including popular fashion, and systems for the cure of disease based on dogmatic teachings.[12]

The Merriam-Webster online dictionary lists five different definitions of the word "cult."[13]

1. Formal religious veneration
2. A system of religious beliefs and ritual; also: its body of adherents;
3. A religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious; also: its body of adherents;
4. A system for the cure of disease based on dogma set forth by its promulgator;
5. Great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (as a film or book).

And also:

According to Rodney Stark's A Theory of Religion, most religions start out their lives as cults or sects, i.e. groups in high tension with the surrounding society. Over time, they tend to either die out or become more established, mainstream and in less tension with society. Cults are new groups with a novel theology, while sects are attempts to return mainstream religions to what the group views as their original purity.[18] As set out by Stark and Bainbridge, the term "cult", is used distinctly among the general definitions, and is closely related to the historically changed definitions of "sect." In this contemporary view, a "sect" is specifically "a deviant religious organization with traditional beliefs and practices," as compared to a "cult" which indicates a "a deviant religious organization with novel beliefs and practices."[19]

Since this definition of "cult" is defined in part in terms of tension with the surrounding society, the same group may both be and not a cult at different places or times. For example, Christianity was by this definition a cult in 1st and 2nd century Rome, while in fifth century Rome it became rather an ecclesia (the state religion). Similarly, very conservative Islam could constitute a cult in the West but also the ecclesia in some conservative Muslim countries. Likewise, because novelty of beliefs and tension are elements in the definition: the Hare Krishnas are not a cult but a sect in India (since their beliefs are largely traditional to Hindu culture), while they are by this definition a cult in the Western world (since their beliefs are largely novel to Christian culture).

ALL religions are cults to another religion. You just left one and joined another. Remember, early christianity was considered a cult, and they were all executed until it became bigger...and so were the protestants and quakers... Do you dare call the Amish a cult? Are you trying to help them escape too? What about cloistered nuns? You know, the ones who believe they are married to Jesus and will be his wives in heaven one day?

You are going about this all wrong. I left the church 3.5 years ago. I didn't feel the need to "hide" the fact that I was leaving. I told people as it came up, and they either accepted me still or didn't.
