Hi,
I am very happy to hear that you love to dance, and sing unto the Lord.As I do myself.I want to dance as David danced before the Lord. And I want to have a voice that sings like know other for him,and to him.
But I know that sometimes we have to make ourselves set down ane read his word.
His word is so powerful, and mighty. And it's his words that give us wisdom, strength, courage in all the things that we do.If we don't read the word, than how will we know what to do when the end is upon us..If wqe want to be with the rest of them,Than we must read, and learn his word.
What would you do,if you lost your voice,or your legs.Or even thought that you might?
Would you pray than?Yes! You would do that.So we should pray, and think God for all that he has given to us,and is still doing for us even if we have not gotten it yet.
The Bible says,Tyhat if we pray, don't doubt, and believe it with all our hearts, that we will have it.So In order to have faith we need to read our Bible,And when reading the Bible it tells us to pray with allour hearts, and soul. That we will not perish, but have everlasting life.

Praying is far more important than singing, unless you are singing your prayers. But Jesus said, 1. not to repeat prayers. 2. To pray in a closet. Which means to be alone, not to let others hear you.
If you read your Bible then you would already know this.
Put the effort into these.

Sing to Him when you can and also in the choir, clap your hands and enjoy praising the Lord. You do need to actually pray, make a special set time that you will pray everyday and do it from your heart. I know He feels your love from your sings, but He also wants you to talk with Him. I don't read the Bible much either as I should, I know that is important too so we can keep learning and growing in God's word.
You may talk to your pastor about this and ask for his guidance and also ask GOD FOR HIS GUIDANCE THROUGH PRAYER.

Three reasons to read the Bible, 1- The first and major reason to read the Bible is to learn more about God. 2- The second major reason is to learn about Jesus Christ and Salvation. 3-The third reason is to grow spiritually And the Bible is God's Word. Conclusion: For a Christian who has a close walk with God, Psalms 42:1-2 says it all,

You don't have to wait for a "Formal" prayer time to talk to God. I like to talk (in my mind not out loud, unless I am away from other people) to him all day long like he is my best friend who is beside me all the time! When you think about it, isn't he with you always?

And as far a the bible goes start from the beginning and skip the Genealogy parts and read it like it is a novel. If the King James version is hard for you to get your mind around find another version that is in the language we speak to day.

When you find a subject that interest you research it future using cross reference that are found in many bibles. Make notes of what you learn and then go back to where you left off in the story.

Blessings!

The best way to read inspired material is to ask for guidance from the Holy Spirit. Instead of just any old book in the Bible. Koran, Vedas, or whatever you are currently reading. You should study them all.
But by asking for guidance you will find yourself turning to things that apply to present situations in your Life. Don't expect this to happen immediately however, because regaining your spiritual abilities takes practice like anything else.

You received great answers. I also love to sing and dance and even run now and then. Just pray and ask God to give you a desire to read His word and you can pray while driving or even working. I do.

I used to have problem with this. But God helped me.
First I never used to understand even when I read bible verses. When I asked God, He reveals mysteries from it because He is the author and also He speaks directly into heart.
And also to pray, I used to write down points to pray for me and also others. Slowly I could spend time daily with God.
Now also I can spend time with Him, because Jesus helps me with it and also that He expects me to talk to Him.
