It's not our abilities that make us what we are, It's our choices.

Nothing is right in my life. I have so many problems. Everything from financial issues, to skin disorders, hearing problems, muscle problems, then from Depression to Autism. I have prayed ever night for about 6+ years that my life will get better. So far, all I have gotten is prescription drugs. I would be very disappointed if that is all the "help" I will receive. But then god turns around and gives other people all the happiness in the world. Any Atheists who answer this question saying or implying that I am not going to get any help because god doesn't exist will not get best answer. Why? Because all that implies is that it sucks to be me which is not helpful. I want to know what Christians have to say about my situation. Anyways, am I being punished? Why is god not helping me?

I have a friend that is not a Muslim, but his father is. He told me that a lot of Muslims do not pray, some on occasion will eat pork, etc. They still believe in the Koran and so on and believe Mohammed was a prophet.

So, would you consider these people Muslim still?

you are right? about your belief whatever it may be, reinacarnation, heaven etc, what makes you so positive you are right and everybody else is wrong? I dont mind hearing opinions, but it just burns me up to hear somebody say " there is no heaven" reincarnation is not in the Bible and is not real" you cant be positive, have you died? have you passed over and God told you? really there is some proof of reincarnation in the Bible depending on how you look at it. so no you cant say for a fact ots not in the Bible. so why do so many of you push your opinions off as fact?

My girlfriend was recently killed in a car accident, and so was her brother...and I'm struggling to find meaning in life. So upon reflection about what people actually are and how we think, etc....I've come to the conclusion we must have a soul with which to love and feel. There has to be something more than neurons and synapses. However, then i have to wonder, why does god let everything in the world happen? Specifically, why does god let the innocent die? Punish the sinners, fine. But what is the reason to kill innocent people? There are larger scale disasters and tragedies, i know. But this loss has got me thinking, and I think religion could help me fill a void in my life, but i can't see how it allows such terrible things to happen?

The biggest turn off for me is heaven.
God created man to live on earth. To go to heaven when we die seems so unatural to me.
Revelations 21:3 to 5 indicates life on earth not in heaven.
John 11:25 &26 Jesus talks about resurrection.
Why would anyone want to go to heaven ?

... that referred to the "theory" of creationism.

What is that and why is it called a theory? I'm not a scientist (my best friend is) but I thought a theory is a credible hypothesis that has been accepted by the scientific community as the best explanation for a phenomenon due to empirical or experimental support.

Is that not how the word 'theory' is used in this context?

He says he's got a warrant for your arrest. He explains it's not actually anything you did, it's something that your two distant ancestors of yours did--they stole some fruit from an orchard and their descendants are guilty as well.

You explain that actually you never heard of either of them or their supposed crime, but the cop says that makes no difference. He leads you away despite your protests.

So you go to court and the judge finds you guilty, even though you didn't do the crime. He explains that the penalty is that you're going to be tortured for ever and ever. The scientists have found a way to prolong someone's life so that the pain never ends. (Even though you didn't actually do anything yourself...)

Suddenly this guy stands up and asks permission to speak. It's the judge's son. The guy says he is willing to take your place. The judge says that's cool, but the guy has to be willing to be tortured to death instead of you, and you have to accept the deal.

Crazy, or what?

Here it is, christians say this when they want to get saved, as I said mormons do not say this, they believe they are spiritually saved.
Sinner's Prayer - Recognizing the Need
The "Sinner's Prayer" is a term that describes the words spoken by a person when he or she has recognized their sin and their need for a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It goes something like this:

“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”
If you decided to repent of your sins and receive Christ today, welcome to God's family. Now, as a way to grow closer to Him, the Bible tells us to follow up on our commitment.
Get baptized as commanded by Christ.
Tell someone else about your new faith in Christ.
Spend time with God each day. It does not have to be a long period of time. Just develop the daily habit of praying to Him and reading His Word. Ask God to increase your faith and your understanding of the Bible.
Seek fellowship with other followers of Jesus. Develop a group of believing friends to answer your questions and support you.
Find a local church where you can worship God.

“And the daughter of any priest/pastor, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.” --- Leviticus 21:9

A priest/pastor's daughter, if found to have lost her virginity without marriage, can receive the death penalty, but in the form of incineration.

“And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she [is] with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.” ---- Genesis 38:24

“Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.” --- (Deuteronomy 22:21)

And just followed the teachings of the NT. If that is so, then why bother having the Old Testament included in most Bibles? I think that if there were never an OT in my Bible, it would have been less likely that I stopped believing in it.
